Sound crazy but did you pull the motor with the battery hooked up you may check the ign fuse in the fuse box could be blown...It is definitely either one of your sensors or its not getting power to them..I think you have to run 12 to one side and use a grounded noid light to check either one of them they change over too fast for you to check them with continuity on a volt meter...

It is even possible that the wires got pulled to hard when removing the plugs off the sensors causing a bad connection...I would un plug them and check to see that both wires are fully inserted into the plastic connection..I feel you man I hate stupid *** things from stopping a project from firing up...My last disater was a radiator leak..held me up a full day..

ok I finally unplug the crank sensor and plug it back in now the starter just crapped out on me and is jamed. Crank it a few times but my battery was low then the start f ed upIm pulling it off and going to buy a new starter what the dam luck. tach is working now when I crank it. Is all crank sensors the same as in if you get one out of a 04 truck 6.0 motor compared to a ls1 because I have an extra one.

I think the sensors are the same only difference is the reluctor on the crankshaft...Hope when you get the new starter installed that thing will decide to make some noise for you sounds like it is on the right track now.
