Wait on ordering a kit. Let me make a phone call and see if i can get a hold of someone. He sell kits locally and also installs them cheap. I run his kits on all my toys and have never had a problem.

If your talking to me, the car had a **** load of nitrous run through it in a short period of time. It also ran for another what year and a half? Id say it lasted a lot longer than it should have running 150 shot on it. If i were to guess id say i pumped around 100lbs of nitrous in the (i wanna say) 3 months i had it. I tried to buy it back from johnny and even offered your dad more than he was going to pay before he even got the car. Just saying.

Funny thing is shane you didnt even have to tell me that. I have been over the car with a fine tooth comb. I bet I know more about it then any of the previous owners. And every step along the way all the evidence has been there to tell little pieces of a 17 year old story.
Didnt the head gaskets go on the notch too?

i think the dry kit is safer because you only have one solenoid to spray nitrous and the MAF gets a signal to add more fuel, so if your solenoid gets stuck then all that happens is that there is no nitrous sprayed and no need for anymore fuel to be added so your motor would still be safe.
If you were to use a wet kit and say the fuel solenoid gets stuck then you are still sprayin just nitrous which will probably pop the motor, but this is pretty rare unless you are hard on you solenoids. Also some say that a wet kit hits harded and is easier to tune than the dry (im not sure about this because i never tuned either and i haven't had a dry kit yet but im in the middle of one now)
If you decided to go with the dry you can spray it after the MAF sensor if you get an HSW interface which when activated will send a signal to the MAF to let it know to add more fuel for the nitrous and this way you can use a plate kit.
good luck which ever way you decide to go

Steve, i bought the car and put a nitrous kit on it along with a $300 paint job. It was running fine when i got rid of it. I talked to johnny about buying it back and he also said it was running fine. It has what 140 something thousand miles? Id say that little motor lived a good life and i got my $3000 back out of it and then some. As for my hatch back mustang, you are correct i did blow a head gasket. I also fucked up my afr heads, gt40 intake, and a few other goodies. The reason was not just because i was running nitrous. Nitrous was a big factor in the damage but it was the initial problem that started it all. As everyone knows i bought the car not built it. The previous guy that done the cam swap didnt use lock-tight on the cam gear bolt. In simple terms the bolt backed out and caused the cam gear to wobble. When i grabbed the button the wobbling cam gear cause it to jump time. I had the timing set on 12* for the nitrous and when i pulled the motor apart the gears were 90* off from lining up. You can say what you want about nitrous because i could care less. Ive been running 125 on my bone stock motor for a few months now and with no stall it was outrunning a friends 12.4 car. I now have a 3500 stall with a built tranny and i will be upping the shot till it pops. I have $120 tied up in my complete motor, why not see what these vortec 350s can handle. I have no hard feeling toward you or anyone here. The black Z was mine, you know i had a bottle in it, and you knew the mileage before you even started messing with it. You cant blame anyone for the condition of a 17 y/o car.

Anybody interested in some Hoosier 27x11.50x15 QTP's? They're in good shape and have plenty of life in them. I bought them, but never got try them out. They're taking up space and I'm not gonna need them for a while. Just want my money back out of them which is $150. Call me on my cell (318-550-8221) if you wanna look at them or buy them. Pretty much everybody on here knows me and knows I don't sell junk, but if you still want pics let me know and I'll post'em up. Thanks.........Josh

Well no need to drudge up the past, I really could give a rats *** what happened to the black car before I got it. However, your story of how it all transpired doesnt exactly match what I have gathered. Some stuff I know happened after it left your hands. But over all its a POS, with lots of shady *** mechanic work and abuse shown throughout the entire damn car. I am doing nothing but trying to put this Z back into a fun DD status and its proving to be more of a money pit then I originally planned. The more I dove into this car, the more evidence of abuse and shoddy mechanic work I have found. It doesnt matter bc it is in the right hands now. I take pride in the mechanic work I do and its important to me that its done right.
