I would be willing to bet its in the $2-300 range.

Anyone know the best place to go for compression and leak down tests? I'm showing a missfire in #7. I've got new injectors, plugs, and wires. I really don't think it's the coil pack either. No obvious loss n power, just a rough idle. Feels like it's lost some vaccum and that's what worries me. Any idea how much these tests will cost me?

Swap coils and check gap on plug. It easy to do Im sure someone will have one and do it for free or a 6 pack.

It most definitely could be a coil pack. I'd swap it around and see if the misfires moves with the coil.

They also have a cheap ignition tester at the auto parts store. I have one. It measures your spark intensity. Its basically an external spark you can see with an expandable gap. You set the gap appropriate to what kind of ignition it is, then fire the car with the device grounded. You can watch the spark jump the gap. You can gauge its intensity and strength. Its less then $10 and only takes a few minutes.

it vs msd. The boot that goes on the plug has a angle to it making more room for clearances

Thanks, ive been working with the guy all day at firecore50 that makes em lol, my back plug is gonna be a booger it seems, will have to have a 90 degree boot on the spark plug end and one on the coil pack, the rest will be stock length

just tried taking driver side sway bar bushing off to regrease it... got the outer nut for the metal shield off, but couldnt get the other bolt off, wouldnt budge. tried a electric impact gun, but i think the batt must be starting to die because it wouldnt budge it either. maby im just too weak myself lol. so i tried spraying some white lithium grease all around the bushing for now. prob go for a drive in a bit to see if it helps, because that squeak is really starting to bug me.

How would it run if I had a broken ringland? New injector, plug, wire, and now new coil pack. Still P0307. Idles a little rough, but no loss of power or any smoking.

Typical ls1 #7 its probably low compression did you check it?

I'd try to get your hands on a coil to just see if a new one fixes the issue. Then I would progress to a cranking compression. Then a leak down. A leak down test will be the gold standard. A broken ringland runs pretty shitty but you would probably get some smoking and its something thats obvious to me, especially if the above tests are done.

I have extra coils that I just pulled off my car if you need to swap it to test, or want me to do it for you.

His last post said he got a new coil but I'm sure you can do the compression test and leak down to help him.

Where can I get a compression and leak down test at around here. Also, how much does that usually run?

Got to a parts store and buy one. Pull plug and screw in like spark plug and turn motor over. Do to all cylinders.

Yep, any parts store or Harbor Freight will have them.

Cranking compression is easy. A good leak down test is a little more involved but still not overly difficult.
