Mine was "supposed" to be good for 600hp. I was about to do a rear next when I got all my bugs worked out. I wont be putting a 60e back in the car anyway. The 60's that are "supposed" to hold up are retarded expensive anyway.

If I was going to swap to a 3 speed, Id go th400. They are pretty much indestructable. A th350, is a little lighter, but are more likely to break bell housings in a car with decent torque. Plus the 2-3 shift bands seem to go out pretty regular.

yea th400 will last the longest and are the strongest, but friends 600hp NA 408ci lq9 had over 300 track passes with 1.30 60' on 275/60 in 3,000lbs iroc and tons of street miles. HE sold it with nothing wrong with it and is still going. He had a $500 rebuild in it. He now has a power glide. picked up 2 tenths over the th350 using same stall. yank 5,500 running high 9s on motor.
if ya worried about housing ultra bell is good to have on high hp cars anyways

HPTuners scanner and some hwy/rpm checking confirms no 4th gear. I suggested talking the build over with Tim in Texarkana before committing to a TH400.

Powerglide with transbrake if making an all out race car. Turbo 350 or 400 if cruisin' and on track. 4L60 or 80 if driving the car everywhere. Braking trannies is just part of the game. Only it always happens at the worst possible moments.
