I've got a set of 241 heads that need a valve job and a valve or 2. I'll let them go pretty cheap.

Alright. Got a new crank bolt put on by torque spec plus 140 and put loc tite on bolt. 3 Wot pulls and started coming off again. Going to key it and see if that fixes it. If not I guess I have to get a new balancer. Any other ideas. This seems to be my last issue other than tuning that's keeping my car off the track. Drivability is great but wot still needs work cause I'm afraid to completely throw off the balancer

What balancer is it?
The bolt actually started backing out or is the pulley separating?

Did you wait 24hrs? It takes that long to fully cure. Do you have a stock balancer, maybe try that and see if that fixes it. If you put 240ftlbs on it I dont see it backing off unless the bolt is first. Maybe the threads in the crank jacked up.

Shouldn't have to depend on the loc-tite to cure for it to hold.

If the threads are mucked up in the crank, I'd hate to be relying on some Loc-Tite to hold my junk together. LOL

Yeah. Its the bolt loosening first. Im going to try the stock balancer and see if that works but I still will probably key it.

No I didn't wait 24 hours. Its an ATI 10% underdrive pulley

If the threads are jacked up though I wouldn't be able to thread it in by hand though.
