SO....I read this great tuning book. It recommended (for internally modded NA engines) to give the car a few degrees more timing in the idle region and limit the over/under speed spark adjustment for a more stable idle. FAILURE. The car wouldn't even idle without your foot on the gas. No surging, but wouldn't run on its own. I tried adding Idle airflow and that did nothing. I put those back the way they were (stock except for Idle Airflow), babied it for about 30 seconds and it was idling on its own.

It works....just have to get the air flow right. Either by IAC or Throttle body adjustment. You can gradually make it less. Set the Over to -4 and Under 2 and see what that does. Then try -2 and 2....then try -2 and 0.

TB was completely closed (from what i could tell) which would prolly explain why it wouldn't run without my foot on the gas. It has a set screw, I can open it some and do a TPS relearn and that should do better eh?

A good read for those who like 4 wheelers and such, I don't feel like reposting it over here.

Yep, opening the throttle body blade should take car of it for you. No need to do the TPS relearn though......you might open it all of 3%....so, it doesn't affect your tuning.
