Nitrous On Mostly Street Car...Opinions
For those of you with nitrous on a mostly street car who barely ever go to the track...do you think it is worth it? I have a basic kit + bottle warmer + purge for free, but all the extra safety items will cost a about $550 more and it seems like refilling bottles would add up quite a bit. Not sure if the cost is worth it or how much I would actually use it with refilling bottles costing so much. Opinions please!

I think it is worth it - you will love the feel of the car with nitrous. THe only problem it is very addicting! What safety items were you looking at that you think would be $550?

Accessories that I am looking at are Mallory 685 (window switch and timing retard), blow-down tube, FPSS, nitrous pressure gauge, nitrous filter, new jets for 100 shot, nozzle retaining nut for the rubber elbow, and an ashtray switch panel. Added up to just over $500 and I rounded up cuz things always seem to cost a little more for misc. odds and ends.

Best bang for the buck power adder out there... it's going to take a LOT of bottle refills to creep up on the cost of a supercharger or especially a turbocharger kit....
it's not just the initial cost of the kit for FI cars... it's the fuel system, tuning and all other odds and ends that REALLY add up quick.
any time you doubt going with nitrous... just hit the button.

^ Enough to keep refilling the bottle for more. Warning though: Once you spray and feel your first hit, you will most likely become a crackhead for life.
As far as the accessories you want/need, they're plenty of sponsors that can help you out here: Nitrous Express, Nitrous Outlet, Harris Speedworks, etc.

So do I seem like I have all my bases covered with the basic kit plus purge, bottle warmer, Mallory 685 (window switch and timing retard), blow-down tube, FPSS, nitrous pressure gauge, nitrous filter, new jets for 75 & 100 shot, nozzle retaining nut for the rubber elbow, and an ashtray switch panel?

You could save a little by going with a Dyno Tune window switch. You really won't need a timing tuner for a 100 shot. Also you could use the switches that come with your components and fab up a small switch panel. I pulled out the little cubby thing in my 99 T/A A4. Looks great, works great and cost was nearly 0 with supplied switches. Just used a textured piece of black ABS.

I have a MadZ28 tune for my car right now, and he said that my timing is currently advanced 1 degree with the tune. Based on that, do you guys think that I will not need to pull any timing with a 100 shot? That would be a nice $ savings.
