Well a stock fuel pump can handle 500-525 rwhp.

Im guessing a walbro 340 can handle around 600-650 rwhp safely.

If you want to be on the safe side I have heard of people running a intank and inline.
I just have the 340 intank and was told that it will be ok till I get over 600+rwhp.

i have an intank 340 and inline 340. i would never trust a stock pump to 500rwhp!!!

the 340 intank is probably good to 550 safely, and inline in there too maybe 600plus.

The Walbro 340 pump is rated to handle 600 horsepower @ 100psi fuel pressure . I would play it safe saying 550 hp @ 90psi .

I am just using the stock pump with a 255 inline and for my setup it works just fine. My FP at idle is ~61 and drops about 1 psi at WOT.

I thought the LS1 FP was supposed to be at 58psi why does everyone seem to run 61?? Do I need to adjust mine. I have an aftermarket regulator.

Meaning if you run over 90 psi , the pump can no longer produce 255 lph of fuel . I was just stating the specs on the 340 pump , not what you are running .

what pump are you looking at, i would say it is rated for 600hp at 60psi but not 100psi based on this chart. at 100psi it is only good for 120hp.

NO, NO!!!! My stock fuel pump failed at 485 RWHP and 5,000 rpm.
I have the Racetronix set-up now.

WOW!

The Racetronix single '98 LS1 pump will safely support 550RWHP @ 400KPa / 58PSI / LS1 factory FP. Depending on your BSFC and A/F required we have seen this number as high as 650RWHP. If you require more HP support you can add a pump booster to the Racetronix harness as it is set up for it out of the box! All you have to do is install the supplied connector for the booster and plug it into the connectors provided on the harness. It does not get much simpler than this. With the booster you can safely support 650RWHP+ when running the pump at 16V. DO NOT RUN IT HIGHER THAN 16V as the pump will start to cavitate.

parish8 , maybe I am missing something in your chart , but from what I can tell ; @60 psi the high pressure 255 lph pump 50 gallons per hour which is equivilent to 189.5 litres per hour . This does not make sense to me . In order for this 255 litre per hour fuel pump to pump 255 litres per hour , it must run @20 psi . Either I am blind , or your chart is incorrect . I have been told this information by many vendors which is why I stated it . Please explain . Thanks .

i have been told that the 255L pumps are rated for free flow, you need an actual chart like that one to see what it really flows at your fuel presure. i am no expert, i got that chart from the GN site, they have alot of great fuel system info. http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/fuel.../fuelpage.html

from looking at several charts at that site it looks to me like that chart is based on 12volts, if you run a fat wire to the pump and get the full 14.2 volts it will pump more.
