Default Thought about trying to go 10's with just bolt-ons+spray? Might run e85

Car is currently just an 02 Z28 M6 with bolt-ons/tuned, but im getting ready to purchase a hsw plate kit.

i have gone 12.36@115 so far with just the bolt-ons and the car made 357whp. car still has the stock clutch/rear/suspension but im also about to buy a 9" w/4.11's & a clutch in the next month.

I wanted to try and break into the 10's with just the bolt-ons+nitrous. do you guys think i could possibly hit a 10.9 with a true 150whp shot? that would put me at approx. 500whp with goobs of TQ. Car is pretty much full weight with the exception of no spare tire/jack.

another thing. ive been debating on doing something different and possibly having the car tuned on e85 and run a larger shot(175-200). what would you nitrous guru's think about doing that to try to hit my 10 second pass stock motor?

it will all depend on if you can get he car out of the hole, and maintain momentum down track. But you will make the power to run 10's.

**** E85. WAAAAAAY to inconsistent. I had my car on E85 and a 150 shot and made a ton of power, but the mileage sucked so bad I could never drive the car. I switched back to pump gas.

if i run e85 im going to fill extra containers so i have plenty of gas at home instead of making constant trips. if it will get me a 10sec slip ill do it.

you will not need e85 to spray a 150 shot on a bolt on car....pump gas will do just fine...

I'm trying to do it with only a 100 shot...getting close..but season is over now. My car isn't even tuned. Just using the HSW Interface to get the A/F ratio good.

I'm spraying 175 on pump gas. Wouldn't do it on 200 though.

Just to give you some insight my car which is an auto with a stall and bolt-ons and a 150 shot went 11.20s so it can be done.

If i was going to run a 200 shot, id probably skip the E85, and have a stand alone full of the good stuff.. E85 can make great power, but i believe you need about 30% more of it, than regular pump gas.

same here should have it next time out if all goes well 11.04@123.08 on a 100 shot full weight. I'm adding a tq arm, and pulling the backseats, and front bumper supports and heading back out in a few weeks

You cant just fill your car with E85 without making a few changes to the complete system. Most E85 vehicles run SS Lines and filters to be able to handle the causticity of the fuel. I had a customers car burn up after running E85 for a few months in a 95 lincoln because it was cheaper. I personally do not see the need to switch to E85 due to the cost of fuel these days and what kind of mileage you will be looking at just for the added boost in power. I would rather make other modifications to make up for the added power. Or run Torco or c16 on a dedicated fuel system. E85 is not worth the changes.

Ya I think you can make it. I had a friend with bolt on's and a TNT 150 go 10.9 in an A4! His car ran 12.1-12.3 n/a!! IMO your M6 is gonna be the only thing that might hold you back. Depends on how good/fast you can shift.

having the 6 speed could kill you.

i went 10.7 @ 127mph on stock internals 2 years ago, tnt 150 (true 150 shot). BUT this is with a th400. think a 1.55 60' did it for me.

definitely do-able though no sweat with an efficient setup and a drivetrain. nothing exotic on my car, hptuners, boltons, STOCK springs, struts etc...26" tire

how much power did your car make to trap 127? and also, was this a full weight car?

car weighs 3450 without me in it
