i have been searching I thought I read that some one was saying that a shorter stroke and bore was better for nitrous, and that that large of a stroke would not be good... But just read my GM high tech and Vengance has 2 big bore large stroke cars both running nitrous.. and the black ss was running a 454lsx! just wanted some feed back....

you can run between 0 and 1,000,000,000,000,000,000+
depending on parts, set up, tune, how often you want to brake stuff, suspention etc etc etc.
hope this helps.
my wise *** remark is pretty much saying there is no right or wrong answer to this question, and its been asked many many times.

Search function ROYALLY SUCKS these days...
We are spraying 300 on a 454 we built. It was just featured in GMHTP last month... High 5s in the 1/8 at a pretty stout race weight.
The thing to consider is with the longer stroke the pin is pushed further up into the piston and also the compression height is altered in a bad way... Lots of people dont suggest big power adders on combos like this, but we have absolutely no issues on the combos we have built.

i went with the 427 for a couple reasons. going 440 or larger screws me up in a local class, if i blow her up and catch the walls, i have meat on there to bore.
if you punch a race block out all the way the first time. you get one shot at a $2,000 block.
with my NA numbers on a car set up to run spray i havent seen many bigger cubes much more impressive. esp if you look at how basic my set up is i have a home ported old style intake, no sheet metal stuff here, i have a nitrous converter and a power glide with 3:73
im thinking this season with the 400 in the car and a little more power from the new heads i'll be in the 9.4- 9.5 range on motor in a car set up to run 300+
that said. i would do a 427 again without question
also, keep in mind i tuned this car with hp tuners and rev it to 8,300 and i have no clue how to tune. lol i bet in the right hands with someone who knows how to tune this car has more in it.
