Default How to test the solenoids?

Getting ready to go to the track soon and wanted to test the solenoids since they haven't been used since last year. What is the best way to test them? This is a HSW plate kit. I was thinking of just disconnecting the lines at the plate hold them in a safe direction (into a bottle for the fuel side) and jump the relays, all of this without the car running of course. Does this sound like a good way to do this? I have a Timing tuner that is a window switch and I also have a FPSS and the micro switch WOT switch. Thanks.....

Yes, just unhook the lines and aim them away from your face. I always set my window switch for something low..like 1500 rpms.

So, are you saying to have the car running, set the window switch to 1500, then activate the microswitch with the fuel and nitrous lines disconnected at the plate (aimed in a safe direction), while the car is held just above the 1500 rpms?

That's what I do. Electrical stuff is not my friend, so I don't know how to "jump the relays" like you mentioned.

Jumping the relays is easiest cause you don't have to reset your window switch settings. Just jump the hot wire to the battery to the hot wire to the solenoids, just undo the relay and jump it from there. Something that happened to me when testing mine was that with the line unhooked from the plate, the fuel solenoid would activate with the car running; but would not deactivate. Got to wondering if maybe the spring in the solenoid wasn't stout enough to push the plunger back closed with nothing to slow the flow down on the end of the 4 AN line. Took the plate off with everything connected and stuck the plate in a jug to test it. Everything worked like a charm that way. Just something to think about. Hope this helps.
