Default What happens when u spray on.....

What happens when you spray nitrous on a set of plugs not meant for the use. Lets say you spray on a set of TR55's instead of using a set of TR6's or 7's, will there be a noticable power difference between using the right plug vs the "wrong"? Will it not combust to its fullest capabilities?

why are you purposely trying to use a product you know is not correct or designed for the application? its a hot plug meant for hot spark and emissions. not nitrous.

HAHA im not going to do it. It is a curiousity factor. Will the nitrous foul out the plug or blow out the spark or just after extended use it will ruin the plug? Is there a PERFORMANCE difference? No one said "hey im too lazy to change my plugs, im just gonna hit it" I just had a question.

Never said Im going to do it. Quit assuming. I asked what would happen when it comes to the functionallity of the plug during combustion?

Depending on how much you are spraying maybe nothing will happen. If its only 100 shot i wouldnt worry about it. All you will do is melt the electrode off of it if you have to muc timing and try to spray to much. People on here are scared of nitrous and are misinformed about it. I have been spraying over 300 on a stock factory short block for over a year on tr6s, some use tr7s for anything over 200. Its all in the tune and remember rich is not always better, you can actually blow a motor up easier being rich then a little lean.

So the system should operate normally till the plug gives out?

Dont understand why the question, why ask unless you were actually thinking of doing that. Thats like saying can I spray a 400 shot on a stock motor, not that I would do it I was just wondering...

Isnt this forum designed and in place for people to ask questions? Its strickly an educational question. Is there a performance difference between using a plug that is designed for nitrous vs a plug no recommended for nitrous? Will performance suffer or will the plug just quickly deteriate and fail? Will nitrous blow out the spark on a plug that is not intended for its use? If you cant answer the question. DO NOT POST. Im not asking your opinion on if u think it is a good idea or not. Its a technical question.

colder plugs will hinder the performance a little bit over a hotter plug but not much if any. I wouldnt spray anything over 100 shot on stock plugs tr6 plugs are so cheap . 16 bucks is a pretty cheap ins policy!

dont take attitude b/c i am stating what others here agree. you are asking and i asked you a valid question. you clearly know that its not the correct part for the application.

what will happen? who knows. maybe it wil run forever. maybe it will re-ignite and detonate. maybe it will crack your piston or bend your rods. maybe you will win the lottery.

a colder plug will not hinder driveability if tuned with that plug. a very cold plug will tend to fowl up/load up and hurt drivability. when i refer to a cold plug, i am talking a plug intended for a nitrous shot/system of 250+

why dont you ask what part you should run for a given need/goal? asking hypothetical and you will get silly answers to silly questions

if you are not ready to change out plugs on a regular basis - then you arent ready to run nitrous. we are here to help. i wouldnt run anything hotter than a TR7 plug for a nitrous application

i am a little curious about this as well. my question is what type of plug do you run if you only spray nitrous every once in a while. i am installing a 150 shot right now but i am only planning to use it maybe just a few times a month. my car is not fuel injected so it is harder to tune it. is there a type of plug that will give good streetability for everyday driving as well as being able to respond to the nitrous?

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with what plug should be run when spraying. That questioned has been killed over the years and most people know the answer. Im not catching an attitude. Your simply just filling this thread with pointless comments and have abcolutely nothing to do with the point in question. If you do not know the answer....DO NOT POST. Simple as that.

it is more likely to detonate.

same as not retarding your timing when spraying.
