Sorry to bring up an old thread. I am running TR6s' on a 150 shot. My last Dyno put me at 543 rwhp and 622 rwtq

Is the 35 gap still recommended for this HP? Should I be going to a colder plug?

Thanks in advance.

Most people arnt using the TR6 plug anymore because of the projected tip. I would toss the TR6s and pick up a set of NGK BR7EF plugs for a 150 shot and gapped at 35.

^^^ Agreed. You might even need a tr8. Never know until you read the plug.

i still run tr6 in my vett, but that 100 shot. i put 7's in it and it didnt seem to run very smooth on the street, so i stick with the 6. the vette however only gets sprayed here and there and for short 2nd and 3rd street races. (not that i would ever race on the street) race track and my race car with 150 shot or 200 i run an 8, if i go over 200 id have a 9.

BR7Ef is what I run on a 100 shot, and a 150 gapped at .032. I DD my car and have yet to foul one of these plugs...never had a single problem with them.

now, why are you running a projected plug for a 150 shot? you want a non projected one...a TR6 is great for boost, not for nitrous.

if your asking me that question, it seemed my vette ran a little rough with the 7's in it when it was cold. wasnt as smooth, and i dont spray it much or for long so i stick with the 6.

My 408w/11.7cr on pump gas in the stock tank and 109vp in the dedicated cell.

On TR6's my 100 shot went a best of 10.0058 @133
my 150 shot went a best of 9.888 @ 136

I still had some detination so I went to the BR7EF

My 100 shot went a new best of 9.899 @133
My 150 shot went a new best of 9.755 @135

So my set up needed the colder plug and it shows results. Oh and it was really rich on the 150 shot. I could have went down 2 more fuel jet sizes with no problems.

Now won't his timing play a roll in how well the TR6's perform for him?

If you are fouling a 7 plug the tune is off. You wont notice with the 6 because its a hotter plug and will burn off the excess fuel.

I'm going to the track here on the 10th. I will run on the TR6s and get some times. I just installed them tonight. I will get the NGK BR7EF plugs for the next track day and compare. Looks like the NGK BR7EF plugs are getting better results.

Thanks, will post up results when I get them.

This is why Im still skeptical about running a bref6 instead of a tr6 for a mostly street driven setup on a 100 shot or less. I don't plan on spraying it that much either. The company I bought my plate from said the tr6 is fine for my plans, but others say "oh no thats wrong". Whats your opinion? Thx
