My compression is around 11 to 1.
Arp head studs and cometic gasket.
Also have full exhaust with long tubes. And a walbro fuel pump. Will have aem wideband on dash and aeroforce scangauge to monitor kr and timing.

In your opinion what would be the largest safe size on 91 octane?

Like stated above, checking your plugs is the BEST way to know how much timing you need. You cant just say 24* for 200hp and it will be universal for any application. AFR with a wideband and timing with plug checking.

i have sprayed 150 on sunnoco93oct and about 16* timing with high flow cats in place, you may be able to swing it with cold non-protruding plugs, especially if you don't have cats. i spray the 150 with denso it-22 set at .045 and the 200 with it-27 set at .035 . i would pm robert56 and ask him , i know he ran his ls1 on the edge for a while, i just don't know if he was on higher oct. numbers with the bigger shots he sprayed. my gut feeling about spraying 200 though, would be no go! the other detail you need to know is what gap the rings were set for. good luck!

on 100 shot and good fuel i would start around 22-24 and read the plugs. going to guess 24-26 is safe with good fuel.

pull 4 more on the 200 shot and see how it looks.

on stock cars i run 24-26* on 100 shot and good fuel

I was told by the machine shop that the rings were gapped to handle a 200 shot without a problem.

I have kooks high flow cats and gapped my plugs at 35.

What octane are you considering good fuel?

Sorry to but in, but could someone answer a simple question. Is it just me, or do you guys with LS motors have to pull more timing than us poor suckers that are still runnin an LT1? Thanks

I bet its way to rich . take out 6 degrees and lean it out and it will go faster. If the fuel was right you would burn it up with 29 in it.

You are correct. the valve angle and efficency of the head matter. a 11 degree aftermarket ls1 head needs alot less timming than a ported stock lt1 casting. The C5X heads we have we use about 5 degrees less than a good 18 degree head.
