Default My new dyno pulls LS2 with all the fixins and a 2 stage

Hey Guys I almost never post in here but this has been a long time project. The initial goal of the project was a 6L 500RWHP motor and 700RWHP on 3 stgs Best overall TQ and driveability. Minimal $$ maximum HP. Versatility for street and road course but with the spray hyabusa like acceleration straight line.

The car is a 99FRC with a forged LS2 stk cubes, ETP 225s 11.7:1, Our Ported FAST 92mm, Our Ported LS2 TB, VR CAI, 236/240 111 Cam, meziere EWP, UD pulley, Dynatech 1.75 headers, High flow cats, Borla stingers, Centerforce DFX steel FW, 3.90 gears, Stk ls6 wheels, kumho tires. Tuned by Jeremy Formato, me. The 2 stages (the car has 3 stgs WAIT FOR FUTURE #s!! ) of DRY Nitrous are a custom design of Alan Jones (nitrous moderator on LS1tech) and a bit of our own twist to dial in traction for roll racing. Need a little more tire! The car is on pump gas and has about 1900 miles and is still on Rotella 15-50 break in oil.

I listed all of the important parts that have a large baring on the power including the oil, clutch, wheels because they each make a significant difference in power. So all things considered for 100degF We were very happy. We have had numerous customers gain 15RWHP by going to the thinner oil after break in. I am looking forward to it in a few hundred miles!

This is all one tune with dry nitrous retard. One tune controls the motor for max power and it also controls the nitrous enrichment and timing retard. Alan Jones and I developed a method to control large dry nitrous shots in late '03 with one tune all on pump gas. We just ran a guy that runs 10.8 @ 126 and beat him on the motor from a roll and with the spray it feels like adding about 7psi of centrifugal boost on top of it!! As you can see the first stg comes on at 4200rpm and the second at 5K rpm.

The pulls were in STD rating but SAE would have been about 12-14RWHP lower, but one must consider the air temp of 100deg. IF it were about 80 deg we would be right back there at the same figures.

Run 4 is motor
Run 9 is 1st stage N20 @ 4200rpm
Run 11 is 1st and 2nd stg of N20 @4.2K and 5K

Nice setup man! I am sure you are enjoying it. Good spray numbers...but I am amazed at the NA power on the stock cube 6.0 motor actually.

Need to finish breaking it in...swap out that oil and redyno in SAE in cold weather! Also need to spray that 3rd stage and exceed 700 rwhp.

Pretty cool. I'd love to see a passengers face as you take off from a slow roll and then have the nitrous kick in at its set points. The smile they would have at first would probably turn to a look of panic if they had never been in a power adder car before.

about 80rwhp per stg. it is best for traction.
Zrated- quite true. I have a friend/ customer 730RWHP full weight fbody sold it a year ago. took him for a ride and we was getting scared on the motor. Then on the spray he was about to pee himself. I though I would never be able to impress this power snob friend of mine.

Wow, is all I can say. Jeremy, your set-up is so damn close to mine it's funny, and we haven't been sharing with each other. I don't know if you remember years back i was doing the dry thing and I found a post by Al at the z06forum and IIRC you were in it also, or least were the tuner of mention. At that time it was almost impossible to find dry users/tuners with the LSx platform. i was even working with going propane as a fuel enhancer. but you guys gave me some great ideas and insight. I have every since talked about your dry tuning prowess, and of course Al is already known around here for his dry knowledge. anyway, congrats on a great set-up, can you share some pics and more details?

Back to the tech of it all. You can see my numbers in my sig, though that was with only two of my 3-dry stages. i have since changed stock intake and now run a DP dry as the 1st stage, and a plate for the 2nd and 3rd stages on a Vic JR. Did you know we can now progress the dry hits with the injectors and stock PCM? Actually there are now no limits to the size we can go and running the stock computer, not that I have seen anyway. Even if the MAF Freq is not enough there is ways around that, as I am sure you know. I also run bone stock LS6 heads, except springs, though prior to the Vic Jr, was at 430rwhp with a baby cam. It's built to handle 1000rwhp, so in the future we will be pushing it more.

Now my new goal will be to keep up with the Jones (how ironic, lol), lol, you guys. Of course in the spirit of good times only. Man, I really want to hear more on what you have done tune wise. There have been such leaps and bounds with the dry tech in last year or so. Our annual dyno shoot out was won again this year by a dry shot i put together for a friend, and I was not in it this year, but have won the prior 3 times. This was against all comers. the first year I won over all numbers even above all the turbo(s), blowers and wet hits. Of course this is true street/strip cars, but the point is, dry tech can hold up against all power adders and styles of nitrous.

We have added an FRC category to the Z06 Fast List over at Corvetteforum.com. So please add your 1/4 runs to list as we don't have many FRC's yet. Al, any runs you get in your new car can be submitted also. We have from bone stock, to drag radials only and all the way to anything goes. Join in you guys?

Al, can you send me my MAF back, please?
Robert
