TR7 plug right for me?
TR7 plug right for me? the mods i have are in my sig. I currently run the ngk tr6 gapped at .037. is this ok for my mods or should go ahead and go a step colder to the tr7. O and also what gap recommendations for this plug. Car has bolt ons ms3 cam and 125shot, but i plan on steping up to 150 sometime soon. Let me know what you guys think.

Don't run the tr-6 at least get the 6 range non projected. Id put a 7 in when you go to the 150 but the tunner will probably have to mess with idle and drivability to get the 7's happy. they need to be run leaner and more timming to keep heat in them to not foul out.

Verdad Gallardo Go with the TR7 plug you will sacfrice a little na hp,but it will be alot safer 150 shot.Better to be on the safe side also pull a plug right after a run on the bottle see what it looks like.
If its lean the tip is going to be whitesh,if you get detonation its gong to have a speckled look on the porcealean part of the plug or the tip of the plug could be damaged.If your running rich it will be black or soaked with fuel.you want the tip of the plug to have brown tannish color to it and have the timming mark end right at the bend of the tip of the plug im not a expert but this is what iv'e been told.The best way to really check a plug is to cut off the threads of the plug right after bottle pass and look then.
I don't think there really is a measurable amount of HP difference 6 to 7. I have been running the 7 for some time as a street/strip plug and no real issues. i can tell you for certain that a 7 will not last as long as a 6 on the street. As stated, great for a 150/185hp street/strip shot, IMO. the Br8 is only 1/2 a point colder than the 7, IIRC, so a great street/strip 185/200hp shot plug, again, IMO. After 200, you should be getting real serious with your tuning skills because the cylinder pressures are really starting to play strong on your motor. To be clear, I am talking mild cars, not 14.3:1 compression 150/200hp shot motors, lol.

i run ngk BR7EF gapped at .035. no problems, i may have noticed a slight, VERY SLIGHT, decrease in performance. i have had them in for about 3k miles, and knock on wood, have had no problems.
