Default Teflon paste

Should I use Teflon Paste on the threads on the Blow Down tube fitting that goes into the bottle? Everybody says not to use the tape so should I use the paste or are the fittings ok to use without anything and wont leak? Where do you but the paste? auto parts stores carry it???

Thanks for your replies!

James

The fitting that the blowdown tube screws onto is sealed by compression.

You wont put any paste or anything on the NHRA blow off cap nor the blowdown tube.

I believe his question is not about the fitting where the blowdown tube screws on, but the other side of that same adapter. The 1/8"NPT threads that screw into the bottle valve. I have always used paste there ?

You can use paste there but it really isn't necessary since you have to torque it in there to 15ftlbs
