Default help with hsw interface

well i went out to try out my nitrous kit today, and when the nitrous kicks in the afr goes to 10-10.5. btw the kit is a hsw sudden impact dry plate kit, with interface and microedge+, and its on a c5 zo6 with mods in sig. the interface is currently pulling 8 deg of timing and its set for a 150 shot. what can i do to get this running right, thanks in advance.

Seems like the interface is doing it's job but your solenoid is not opening up or you are having another nitrous delivery problem. What is your bottle pressure? If it is over 950 the solenoid may be stuck shut.

but i can feel when the nitrous kicks in, it pulls pretty crazy. also when i tested the kit out, psi was between 790 and 800. i went out again a little bit ago with bottle pressure at 950 but the bottle ran out.

the dip switches for the timing retard are all on which equal to 8 deg of timing pulled, and for the jet hp they are set for 150. the top end switches are all off, for the maf config. the number 4 switch is on, the delay switches are all off. the lt1-ls1 is switched to ls1, and i believe the trig power is on and the trig+ - is set to -

The interface does not know or care what the bottle pressure is. It is telling the MAF to read the airflow to provide fuel for an additional 150 HP regardless of what the bottle pressure is.

Try it with the bottle at the right pressure w/ a full bottle (950-1000 PSI).

If you do not have a heater try it at the lower bottle pressure and set the DIP switch to 125. If it is still rich, then try 100 on the DIP switches, til you get the AFR you want.

Your spraying AFR will be a function of Bottle pressure, and your DIP switch settings.

Sorry to break into thread but I thought the interface can only pull 3 deg of timing. How did you pull 8 deg?
I ask as I have a HSW wet plate kit that will be set up soon and I'm still looking for a timing device that is easy to set up.

3 degrees out of the box for LS1 pcm. You can pull any amount you want with modification of 1 table.

I was referring to bottle pressure because at first it seemed like he was getting the extra fuel, but no nitrous (stuck solenoids, etc.). Not because the interface cared what the bottle pressure was.

You will know your hooked when you get mother bottles and start filling your own...the $50+ a refill and time on the road is easily recouped filling your own.

This season I am getting a NANO mother bottle too

My Nitrous consumption will increase for sure when I get my new motor.

well i went out today and filled my bottle up, then warmed it up to 950psi, did a pull and afr was still around 10.5. then i set the interface to 125 shot, but before i could try it out, the freaking car died and now i have zero fuel pressure. i think my fuel pump went out, so tomorrow I'm going to check a couple of things and see if i can get the car to start. this really sucks, i was hoping to get kicked out of the track this coming sunday

Be carefull not to strip the fuel pump cover studs if ya pull the pump..

Did ya check the fuse first?

I checked all the factory fuses yesterday before i called a tow truck and everything was fine. the crazy thing is, i forgot the racetronix harness also has a fuse. i checked it this morning and sure enough, it was blown. i replaced it and the car fired right up. i don't know why it happened but I'm also going to check the kenne bell boost a pump fuse and make sure that one is okay to, and then back to testing

alright, so tonight i went out again and set the dip switches to 125 and made sure the bottle psi was 950, afr was around 10.8-11. so then i set the dip switches to 100 and the afr went down to 10.0 and bottle pressure fell to almost 800, the damn bottle ran out again. ill go and fill the bottle again and try again to see if i can get the afr around 11.5.another question i have, is 8 deg of timing to much to pull or is it okay

You can probably add a few degrees back in. Don't adjust the Interface settings until you get a fresh bottle in there. Weigh it to make sure you're getting a good fill.
