NGKs are the more popular. i use the TR6s, which is one step colder. you will get mixed opinions on how much colder is "best". here is a link to the Sticky at the top of this section, with a list of spark plug part numbers, and how much colder they are than stock.

give one of our nitrous sponsers a call to help determine how cold you should go. They will be more than happy to help you.

NGK-BR6EF from what I've been reading on here, people should stop using the tr6's because the tip is projected... fwiw

Although...I have been running the tr6's for years now... with 0 problems...

You are leaving out TOO MUCH INFO... People in this thread are making poor assumptions because you don't know what this guy's planning on doing... Give us more details about your ENTIRE setup...

Yes we need more info. What is the compression ratio? How much you plan on spraying? Give as much info as possible that way you will get the most correct information possible.

There you go giving out info without doing research. He doesn't even say how much he wants to spray, so a plug cannot be recommended until that is known. Even then more info has to be given. That is a projected tip plug. You want a non-projected tip. Many people have ran that plug with no issues but it is not the BEST plug for spray.

you are right i dont know everything about his build but from his sig i gathered that he isnt to heavily modded and probably wont be spraying much more than a 100-150

i understand that there are better plugs out there now but people have used the tr6's for years without any issues so sue me for suggesting a proven plug

Yes, and there are people who have hurt their motor running a tr6 plug when they shouldn't. If you used it and came out ok then hooray for you, but there have been many discussions that it is better to use a non-projected tip.

Never assume what somebody will be spraying because of there mods. I have seen people run the same mods as the OP and slap a 250 shot on it. Now would you recommend a tr6 for a 250? That is why we need more info from him. If he is going to spray a 250 I hope he has another engine ready to go on the stand.

I would sue you if I could...

But just because it has worked doesnt mean it is ok, there is much better/safe/correct plug out there with no downsides. Time to make the switch nomatter if the tr6's worked or not.

okay im not gonna argue all these what ifs but the key words were running a tr6 when they shouldnt, probably on a big shot

you are right i did assume he was going with a small shot which was a mistake

See what I mean OP?? Funny how a simple spark plug can start a heated debate. Just call a sponsor and get a professional opinion on what heat rating u should use.

There is no debate, the br6ef for a mainly stock car 100 or so shot car is perfect. Who ever started the tr6 bandwagon was wrong. Non projected plug is what should be in the car.

Thanks

Yes, it starts a debate because there was a wrong recommendation. We are all here to get information from each other, that is what the OP came here for and the more knowledgeable, nitrous guys here help us with info from their experiences.
