Default nitrous on a carburetor

i did a search and didnt come up with much. i want to run a 100 shot on my 355 sbc and was wondering if it would work with my fuel regulator (set to 7psi) In my search all i could find was that with a carburetor nitrous system the nitrous system did all the work with fuel and nos and left the carb out...is that right?

Some kits require 5.5psi. I would get another low psi reg before the plate so it can be regulated separately from the motor. That way if it is rich your could lower the psi on the plate a 1/2 psi at a time to get it dialed in.

ok. so then when i hit the nitrous does it shut off the main fuel line into the carb and then go into a separate fuel line that goes into the plate and mixes with the nitrous?

no, the carb will still flow, its kind of the same thing as any other kit.

And make sure your pump is a little over kill for your motor so it does not starve it for fuel..

its actually easier tuning wise to up the fuel pressure to like 9.5 on the nitrous side. get a Y and run 2 lines.
............................... / ---------------carb
fuel pump------------
................................\ ------------- nitrous plate

ignore the periods.

You need to run two separate regulators, one for the carb, and one for the nitrous kit.
