Default Removing nitrous kit... have a question about fuel rail

I've sold my nitrous kit and I'm in the process of removing it. Only snag I've run into is the fuel solenoid line plumbs into the end of the driver side fuel rail. My question is, was there a factory cap on the end of the fuel rail, because I don't have one. Can I buy something in a certain size from an autoparts store that will work?

Thank you in advance.

Just buy a cap from a fitting store or home depot/lowes.

I think its 3AN. I had to do the same thing a while back.

There was a cap and more importantly there was a schrader valve under that cap. I have no idea where you would find the cap itself.

yea cap is nothing more important is the schrader valve (like a valve stem core) i believe you remove it when you install the fuel sol.... i need to get parts to extend my rail out an inch or so so i can install my fuel sol. myself haha

What's so important about the schrader valve and how could I go about getting another?

Its what actually keeps the fuel from spraying out of the rail. That little plastic cap will not hold the 58 psi of pressure inside of the fuel rail.

Ah, I see now. I thought the cap was threaded on, I wasn't sure what the original looked like. Sounds like I need to find a schrader valve then.

The cap is threaded on, but it is not what seals the end of the rail.

You can get a schrader valve at any local auto parts store. Its the same valve that used in the valve stem for your wheels. You will find it in the tire repair section. It usually comes with about 5 schrader valves and a tool to remove/install them.

I dont think its the same valve, I think its specific to the fuel rail. Someone else may correct me but I was told when I removed mine to keep it because its not the same as froma tire. I would definetly get a definitive answer from someone like HSW before you try and put a tire one in.

I ordered the valve from a GM dealership just to be safe when I removed my first kit. It has to be something special because it was like $7.

Like everyone else said, you'll want to get the shraeder valve back in there. The plastic cap is just a dust shield to protect the valve itself from becoming damaged.

You could also just do a 4AN cap, but please be very very careful when tightening it...its so easy to break off the threaded end of the fuel rail trying to get a good seal. IMO the stock shraeder valve is a better solution.
