Default Help When Dyno/Tune Nitorus. WHAT TO DO....?

OK here is what I am asking. When they dyno my car. WHAT exactly should I make sure they do and when they are dynoing AND what are the right A/F Ratios I should shoot for to be safe, yet effective.

Haven't sprayed in a few years, so I need to get her back in shape. For example. I have an Automatic with 3.42 gears and a YANK SS3600 Stall, 228/.588 114 LSA Cam/Patriot Heads (59cc), Beefed Up tranny (so I could spray through shifts).

What should I set my RPM Switch AT for the LOW RPM's to turn on and HIGH RPM's to turn Off??

Make sure bottle pressure is at 1000 psi, right?

When dynoing, what should they do. Bring it up to what speed and then punch it WOT? (I HAVE A 3600 Stall remeber...)

What should my Air Fuel ratios be on the MOTOR only run, and then what should they be when I Spray. I might run a little safer (richer) and loose a few ponies to make it more safe. Already went thropugh one motor and can't afford another (long story)

Have a 10 pound bottle, how many dyno runs will that get me. I don't want to rag her out, just tune her so I KNOW she is running right, but wan't to knwo so I am aware.

WHAT ELSE?????? You guys tell me.....

Thanks!!!!

Bandit.................

The LS engines typically like about 0.90 Lambda on motor. Of course, it always depends on many variables. Many people tune their engines a bit more on the rich side, some a bit more on the lean side of ~0.9 lambda.

You should spray above 2900rpms and stop spraying a few hundred rpms below the fuel cut-off. And YES, ALWAYS AT WOT.

MAKE SURE TRACTION CONTROL IS OFF

I would start by trusting the people you're going to be paying money to tune your car. If you don't trust them to do right by you and your car then wait until you find a place you do.
If you do trust them and believe they know how to tune your setup then there's no need for you to stand there and tell them that people on the internet told you that your car should be tuned a certain way. Frankly I don't see any legitimately competent shop allowing you to dictate the tune in your car, especially based on internet info.
Remember, you're paying these people for a service, let them do their job.

You should tell them your goals for the car, inlcuding that you'd rather err on the side of safe at the expense of a few hp.
You can ask them how they plan to tune the car and why so you can become more educated on the process but I wouldn't walk in there with a printout from a message board and tell them how to tune the car.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Well said. If I would of never done my research on here and would of not asked my tuner how he planed to tune my car, my set up could of went way wrong.

Thanks. Just wanted to refresh my memory. My tune will be the same NA as on the bottle, BUT basically do they Pull 4 degrees of timing??? What should my A/F Ratios be on the Bottle/// What's a safe range??

I guess I have to have a slower NA Car so I can spray ocasionally, right???

no chip in the low RPM side of the WOT and 400 before rev limiter...Should 60 foot the hardest this way by flashing the converter and using a WOT switch for the activation.

I have an MSD Window Switch so I have a Low and high and also a WOT or TPS actually so my STALL is at 3600 so if I put it at 3000 (to be sahe) it will flash to 3600 upon WOT anyway and be on the GAS!

My shift points I think are at 6500 (if I remeber) and rev is at 6800 (if I remeber) so I can either Spray through shifts or right before??? I DO have a BEEFED up Transmission that will HOLD no problem, shoudl I spray through shifts???
