Default What to set my window switch at ?

What should I set my Timing tuner (HP in a Box) at?
I had my tuner set my factory rev limiter (fuel cutout) at 7000

I have my shift light set at 6400 and with my slow shifting and spraying the juice I am thinking I will be shifting at about 6700 since the light is coming in at 6400

IS it safe to set the window switch at 2500 to say what 6800 ? In this M6 car?

Is there much danger in going below 3000 ie... setting the lower edge of the rpm window at 2500 RPM ?

We did just get a 131 HP gain on a 150 shot with a great knock count, so I am pumped.

This is my DD and it will only see the track once or twice this year, it will mostly be getting sprayed on the street with my ET streets. (Yes, I do live in the middle of know where)

TIA, Zach

I had mine set to 3000 for one time to the track. Next time I set it to 2000 or something so I spray off the line. I have a 2800 stall. I have the top set to 100 rpm before my shift.

Dont go below 3000rpm to be safe I would set it for 3500 shut off at 6400. You said this is your daily driver. So I would not push it just have fun. Unless you have extra money.

I should have said this is defiantly the safest set up. My stall is a 2800 so spraying the juice it should stall into the 3100 range. Therefore I have the window set low but still aren't spraying till close to 3000.

My shift points were at 6800 so I set it 3200-6600 if I remember correctly! I now have a WOT switch. I've always heard it's not safe to spray under 3000.

Im looking into doing this kind of setup,

Can or should you run a WOT and window switch or is both a waste?

I have a msd window switch with the pills. Its real easy to change what rpm you spray at. I would definatly have a WOT switch and window switch.

You always want a wot switch. It can be in your spray rpms but if you let off you don't want to keep spaying or you blow it up. That is why you must have a wot regardless of window switch or anything else.

I assume you are running a 6 speed and I would at least set the deactivation for 100-200rpm's before you make the shift. The reason being that if you miss a shift or the clutch slips you dont tag the rev limiter on the juice.

I was only running the window switch but mine is an A4. It was the MSD window switch which you just plug in the 2 pills(RPM activation/deactivation).

I run both a window switch and WOT switch through my progressive controller (mini). For the window, I set it at 3,200 for activation and 6,400 to cut off before my 6,600 shift point.

I wanted a setup where I simply had to turn the system on and then hit the pedal. The controller does all the rest. The window switch ensures nitrous is activated within an appropriate range and the WOT switch is a "safety valve" in the event I need to back off of it (for whatever reason).

If you have a street setup and want a little help with traction, I'd highly recommend the progressive controller setup. I start at 80% on at 3200 rpm and it ramps to the full 100% hit by 4000. Works wonders for traction on the streets. I imagine the drivetrain appreciates the reduces shock of the hit as well.

Link to this progressive controller? Will it work on an lt1?
