Default 91 octane vs 50/50

I'm getting my car dynoed for an NX 150 shot tomorrow night. I have 91 octane in the tank right now and was wondering if it would be worth the extra money to run a 50/50 mix of 91 and 100 octane? Also what gains can i expect to see?

The last time i was on the dyno i put down 340 RWHP and 350 RWTQ.
Since then i've done an off road y pipe and obviously the NX 150 shot. What are some estimates on what i'll put down?

Numbers are on a Dynojet.

you wont see any gains but you might do it for the extra safety thats about it imo. But if you are gonna tune to that 50/50 mix you will want that everytime you spray, just something else to think about.

More octane has never hurt anything.

camscam is right. Tune it how you run it. In my car I havent ever mixed. I might if I had access to 100 octane.

I think this comes down to how you drive the car. If the spray is only a every other weekend deal and at the track, I would for sure mix it. Why not? Couple bucks is worth the extra safety. But honestly if your going to want the spray on the street you may want to just stay conservative on tuning.

Let us know what you decide what she makes!

No gains, but high octane gas (100 or more, unleaded) will slow the burn rate in the cylinder. This will provide another way, similar to retarding timing, to avoid knock.

I was under the impression that even with a 91/100 mix the 91 will still light off first even when mixed.

So what your saying is: I can spray a 100 shot on a 75 shot tune as long as I run 100 octane?

You aren't mixig oil and water that don't mix. You are simply mixing fuel formulated with 91 octane, and 100 octane. 50/50 mix will result in 95.5 octane.
