ok, vote for the new mod here!!!
Thanks Wayne....
You guys definately know your stuff more than well enough to do this... I have a feeling you might be a little more "enthusiastic" than the admins would like though (especially with the ban hammer).
How's the car coming by the way? I haven't heard any updates since the last "stand down for two more weeks."

What are you talking about? I watch all the info that you, Shiz and Baked have put here and how you have helped people stay on the right track even though it seems like a never ending losing battle. Even though you might complain, you like being here and correcting the mis-information and help guide the people who are on the right track. If your name was in the hat I would have voted for ya.
By the way ryarbrough, you got my vote

Wow, I see where the fast guys come in here. If you use anything other than a TR6 and a 150hp shot on a stock motor, your out.
It doesn't matter one way or the other to me, but I would think a MOD in a Nitrous forum should be able to answer questions and give knowledge on various combinations. Not a single person listed in the poll has the ability to answer serious tech questions about Nitrous/Fuel ratios, lbs/hr of fuel needed for a dry system, flowing a direct port and how to figure the proper jet size for a given tuneup(without looking at their jet card). Or how about reading a spark plug? What about wiring, can anyone in this poll create a wire harness drawing, let alone wire a nitrous system with the proper gauge wire, relay and terminals? Can I trust anyone in this poll to give me the right information about my spark plugs? Nope.
While the rest of the guys in this poll are perfectly suited for all of the stock engine, how much nitrous or will a 125hp shot hurt my engine posts......this forum needs someone with a little more in depth knowledge of nitrous applications. The guys who learn nitrous, are the ones that burn their **** up sooner or later. With nitrous, its not if you burn a piston....but when.
Knowledge and experience are key in a MOD trying to help out the beginners. Without that, your just another Joe Blow on an internet forum. Clearly, popularity has choosen a mod and not their experience level.

I'd be willing to help out in the MOD department if interested. I've been on this site since its inception...so yeah I've been here a while. While I might not have a million posts, I do read the forums alot and send PM's and such. I've never started **** with sponsors and I get along with a good portion of the sponsors here. I also have a personal and business relationship with several sponsors of this forum. Most can vouch for me, plus I'm still actively in the Nitrous game even though I don't post updates about the combo
Second, we have guys here that don't want to be mods but are willing to help us little guys read our plugs and we trust them, you know who they are.
Third, this poll doesn't decide who becomes a mod, so send you background info and knowledge to Noyzee so he can consider you over some of the other guys in the poll.
If you look in the other thread, I posted there needs to be 2 mods and not 1 just for the reason to have someone who is well versed on big shots and direct ports. We don't get many threads like that but the info would be helpful.
SMKN ..
You been on here for 9 years and have 550 posts.
I rarely see you in here answering questions.
Guys that need to know the answers to the questions you listed wont come on this forum to ask.

I personally don't care who gets the MOD position, as they are gonna have a handful keeping you and your sidekick under control.
I'll stick to the Bullet where there are many more knowledgeable people when it comes to nitrous.

I agree that most of us in this poll are not the MOST knowledgeable about nitrous, however there IS another 8 second nitrous car in the running. I also feel that you are diminishing the remainder of our abilities far below their actual extent (I can't read plugs now? I've never wired my car?). Your car is badass and I have always respected it AND your presence here on the forum. We (I feel like I speak for all of the less experienced guys here) understand that you are more knowledgable and will GLADLY yield to your knowledge when you share it and you make your opinion known! We really appreciate your knowledge and experience! I will NEVER claim to be the end all be all of nitrous tech, and I don't think you would either. There is always someone who knows more/has done more.
The guys here need a guy that is capable of answering a majority of the questions that the average Joe is going to ask, have deeper technical discussions with the "big hitters" to improve themselves and the rest of the forum, and know when to yield to people with more experience. I'm not saying that you aren't that person, but I'm also not going to agree that others here are not qualified.
Finally, I agree with Wayne on his point. Most of the guys on this forum are just getting started in the nitrous game. People with more experience are going to move onto yellowbullet, etc. to find more detailed information on more agressive setups (as I do). Just because we haven't built a 8 second nitrous car due to funds, experience, etc. does not, to any extent, diminish what we have done in the past or the knowledge we have obtained.
I'm sorry you feel shorted, but I know that was not the intent of anyone here. We are all just looking to provide a way for this forum to grow and help provide better education for EVERYONE. Please don't take anything here that way. We all just want the best for the forum and the people that visit it otherwise we wouldn't be spending our time here "auditioning" for this.

I think my post may have come off a little harsher than I had planned...LOL
I don't feel shorted here one bit, hell most of the newer guys don't even have any idea on who I am...nor what my car is. Which is fine and I understand that. People are looking for someone that is very "visible" in this forum. I tend to lurk, read and interpret more than I do post.
My extra time here lately has been a little short due to racing, work and my eletrical side business. Hence the reason why I don't post in here much lately.
I didn't mean to put down any of the other members who are auditioning here, just making the point that there probably should be 2 MODS and not 1 due to the range of combinations in this forum. But you and Wayne are right, anyone searching something very technical will be moving on to yellowbullet in search of their answer.
First off, I am pleased I am being considered. I am on here quite a bit, and I remember what it was like being a Noob here. I have good relationships with what I would call the big 3-4 Vendors (Dynotune, Nitrous Outlet, HSW, NX). I stay neutral when recommending vendors, usually saying call each and ask the right questions...
In my honest opinion, the purpose of the the MOD is not to know it all. Its not for the MOD to have the fastest car. Nor it is for the MOD to be able to answer all the Noob's questions. Its not to lock a thread for Nitrous parts for sale thread (if its nitrous related, why not post it in the Nitrous system, if you don't want to look at it don't click it...).
The purpose of the MOD is to monitor the board and ensure the threads stay respectful on on topic. Pretty simple its enforcing the "Golden rule". Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Let me respond to this...
can anyone in this poll create a wire harness drawing, let alone wire a nitrous system with the proper gauge wire, relay and terminals?
I know I have posted my diagrams and offered help based on my "limited experience"...I have spent phone time with guys form the board I never met trying to set up their window switches because they could not get a quick return call from a forum vendors, I have shown pictures of heat shrink and "Y" ing the wire connections to make for a cleaner install. Now, I guess my biggest accomplishment is getting one of my products pictured in Nitrous Oxide Performance Handbook by Jeff Hartman (page 64 I think it was, lower right corner of the page
)
To alot of folks, knowledge is power, and some share their go fast info sparingly, or a need to know basis. There are obviously various levels on Nitrous users on the board from beginner to intermediate and of course those who can tell you what VE multiplier to use for a dry shot if your not spraying thru or using a MAF. What I observe is the guys who know alot, jump in on other threads from other guys who know alot. Some help out Noob's but generally not a whole lot, as we all know, most Noob's do not search...at first anyways...This forum is a business, and its in the best interest of the forum not be harsh and treat new board members with "Use the search function Noob!" the more people who stay and use the forum the more knowledge and the larger the data is for other to use.
The Mod's purpose is not be a Nitrous God...but someone who can keep the board interesting, when it slow come up with a theme say ask for Dry installations... or maybe focus on F-Body threads or Y body when it slow...
Yes, I probably have the slowest nitrous car on the board LOL...but so what, I am trying to get better, and what I learn I am going to share with anyone who see's my thread and wants to see what I learned or what results I got.
On a side note...I should be picking up my car from Cartek Friday (fresh Forged LS6 382), and revamping my system this weekend (focusing on Dry, will be a small shot till I am comfortable with the logs). Hoping to finally be a lil faster...
Hey, if I don't get it, no big deal, I will just keep doing what I been doing here the last few years, putting out info, helping others, posting pictures and ideas as I get em...Because its something I enjoy.
