Default How much timing to pull for 150-200?

What is a rough guess to start on how much timing to pull when spraying 150-200 on a cam only ls1?

6 for a 150, 8 for 200 then read the plugs and adjust from there

I'd start a little more conservatively than that and ramp it in based on what the motor likes.

Very much agree with this. Especially with the number of users who wont pull the plugs.

Would also depend on what your na tune is at? I was at 29 degrees on my na tune and pulled 8 for the 150 and it put a good mark on the strap. On a 200 shot I ran 15 and it was about right (#6 being my leanest cylinder, tuning to it) The 2 degrees per 50 is really not safe unless your talking about spraying 100 or so in my opinion. Too little timing never hurt a motor but too much has killed many. Start low and work the timing back in.

okay thanks guys. What device other than HPtuners hooked to a laptop (something simpler) are you guys using to pull the time so you can run NA with your good timing, and pull to spray?

So if I want to spray the car, I go to wherever I've mounting this unit and adjust it to pull (X*) for the spray, then go out and give it hell? And when I'm done I just go back and reset the timing back to where it was? How do you pull/reset timing on this module? Thanks!

You can use the "resistor mod" to pull timing only when the nitrous is activated. You can use=r HPTuners to set the value you want pulled then you are done. It will only pull the timing when you flip the arm switch or the noids are activated depending on how you have it wired up.

You won't need to keep going back and changing timing for nitrous and non nitrous tunes. Do a search on "resistor mod".

It is the "dialable" resistor mod. You can go from stock timing to 200hp nitrous timing with just the turn of the dial. This is of course assuming your IAT tables in your computer are set up correctly.

I love it. Had it setup when the car was tuned and I don't have to do anything put arm the system and it does its job.
