Default Nitrous torque converter experts question

I'm going to have my converter restalled so it will work with my nitrous system. Currently I'm running a Midwest 42-4400 with no lock up clutches. That was fine all motor, but I'm blowing through it on the gas. This was my conclusion after testing on the dyno and the track and the car makes more power and mph with a 100 shot than a 150 (would loose 10hp on the dyno and 1mph at the track with the 150). Before I have it restalled, thought I'd ask for some suggestions. Here's what the car is currently doing:

11.66 @ 118 with a 1.66 60' on motor

11.000 @ 125 with a 1.57 60' on a 100 shot

Should I go so low as a 3800 stall or is there anyone with suggestions?

Thanks!

If you plan on spraying no more than a 150 shot, I say go with a 4000 converter.

150 shot will be the most that this tranny will see. I was thinking about going lower just because this converter feels real loose. Guess I'll ask Midwest if I go 4000 can they make it tighter. Thanks for the input. How you coming on chasing 8's?

next,

I'm running a 3400 converter with 3.73's, 28" tire with a 300 shot, and the converter is a little on the tight side, that's why I think you can get a way with 4000. Either way, you can always get the verter reflashed if needed.

As far as chasing 8's goes... This winter I took over 200lbs outta the car and plan on upping the shot. Once the weather breaks, we'll see how she goes!

I've been extemely happy with the customer service from Midwest. Restalling is not a problem and as I mentioned this is just a temp situation as I work out the plan for the 3 speed tranny. Thanks again for your input.

The update sounds promising. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you. I need to get my car weighed as I've shedded a few pounds and should be down near the bottom 3100s w/o me. Still got a few more things on the car that will drop me down another 100 or so.

Which brand converter? I just got my Vig 3400 multidisc that I ordered for my set up. 382 stroker with 150 wet shot (maybe 200). I figured this would be the best combo for N/A and on the bottle. I am running a Rossler 4L60E (should be here tomorrow if weather doesn't prolong it). Using BFG DR's or ET Streets and 10 bolt with 3.23 gears. do you like the mild stall since you have such a big shot, or would you go higher if you had to do it over again?

Thanks,
SDB

SDB,

I thought the mild stall on my car was just a tad bit to mild. I considered sending it back for a reflash but then decided to go with a bigger shot of nitrous, so the 3400 ended up being a little better. I was going to go with a 3800 or even a 4000 and put a 29.5" tire on it but with extensive track testing I think she is set up optimal right now. I intend to up the shot yet again, so the 3400 with a 28w" tire ended up being just right. The converter is a TCS (no longer in business).
