i plan on doing a nitrous outlet kit here in the near future, but am wanting a lingenfelter launch controller as well for the track. My issue is when im launching my foot it to the floor so the whole time im on the 2 step would it be spraying? also with WOT shifts and after i let out of the clutch its going to be around 4k id assume so would it spray as soon as the rpms came down? im just kinda leary on some issues. if some m6 guys could just step in and give some advice,opinions etc. i plan on buying a kit that makes it as safe as possible. thanks

 

I have the Microedge controller and Im not a track runner, but on the streets, I lift between every shift so this shuts off the nitrous, then activates it again when im WOT. Spraying through the shifts, no lifting isnt worth the stress and dangers.

I dont know much about the lingenfelter launch controller, but if it has a window switch built into it, I wouldnt worry about the rpm's.

 

There is prob a safety thing to where when the clutch is engaged, it will not allow the kit to work, or if maybe it will not allow both the 2 step and the kit to work at the same time.

 

I am having the same problem... The nitrous will spray while it is 2-stepping, I am wating to hear back on a diagram i made to work with a zex system, msd window switch and the lnc-002 (same unit as your looking at) as soon as i hear back if my diagram will work or not i will let you know and maybe it could help you out a little on hooking it up. Another thing i have found is this...

"Just wanted to update this to help anyone else looking for info, what I plan on doing here is taking my 12V switched white wire for the NOS Mini progressive unit and plan on using the top two wire clutch switch (cruise control clutch anticipation switch) above the pedal, it seems this is a simple open/close switch and is open when the pedal is done, now the MSD 2 step is wired into the lower clutch pedal switch, hance why I'm using the top switch to deactivate the nitrous, so what I'll be doing is cutting my white 12v switched power wire for the mini (which goes to my arming switch button) and attaching one end to one side of the top clutch switch using an OEM pigtail from a parts store (that way I don't butcher up my stock pigtail incase I ever decide to put it back) and other part of the white 12v switched wire coming from my arming switch to the other side of the top clutch switch. So basically when i press the pedal down my 2 step will activate which at the same time killing the power from the top switch hance killing my arming button for the nitrous and when I launch the car the pedal comes up then depressing the top switch and completing the 12v circuit as well as my arming switch and we're having some major fun!!!!!! Now if I were to want to use the cruise control one day, which I won't, all you would have to do is jump the stock OE plug to connect the circuit and make the system think the clutch pedal is always up."

 

How does that M6 launch timing box deal work? Is it like the TQ managment or traction control?

 

Are you using a MicroEdge or any nitrous controller? I've got the Lingenfelter Launch Controller with timing retard for my nitrous. Here's the diagram I made for my setup.



It cuts spark to keep the RPMs down. It's not traction control its like a 2-Step.

what other controller would i need? my main thing is i dont want nitrous active in 2 step, and backfiring..

 

You can use whatever controller you want. I, personally, like and have the MicroEdge and that's what I made the diagram for. If you want, once you figure out what controller you are going to go with, I'll make you your own diagram. Hell, I could make you a diagram for a nitrous system without a controller if you would like to roll like that.

A controller basically controls your nitrous activation. All you do is program the different variables (RPM, TPS, O2 reading, ECT.) to the settings that you want, then, when the nitrous system is activated and all the variables are within your programed parameter the controller activates the solenoids.

When you say "that kit" I assume you're talking about your nitrous kit. I don't know if the Nitrous Outlet kit that your looking at has a window switch or not. If it does, and you pick up a MicroEdge, you won't need the nitrous outlet window switch or the other stuff that you were talking about (TPS Activation). the lingenfelter has an extra circuit that you wire a shut off relay into so it wont spray with the clutch in(2 step on)
