looking for advice for my setup.
let me say first, that ive read the sticky about nitrous on stock ls1 block, and ive searched for other posts.
current set up. 99 firebird fire hawk 6 speed
patriot 5.3 heads= https://www.patriot-performance.com/...&cat=36&page=1
ls6 intake
kooks 1 3/4 LT
comp cam part number 54-000-11
in/ex lift 571
in/ex dur 228
lsa 114
right now its kind of a sleeper cam. cant tell it has one. dynoed 405 whp
car was tuned by speed inc, near chicago.
so i was thinking about doing a 75 wet plate shot.
i was wondering if i can do this without pulling timing, ?
i realize that i have to change plugs.
i will have a button on the shifter and only be hitting it in the higher rpms when needed.
i also always go up a fuel jet or two
any advice would help greatly

Odds are when the car was tuned it was tuned for the best N/A performance. I would contact speed inc and ask the tunner, but odds are yes you will need to pull timing. You may look into a lingenfelter controller.

i know msd makes one . will that one do the same job>?
Don't knock that cam, when I was building a stock cube engine I had a 228R cam, I currently have a Tourqer 2 in a TSP 404 cuin motor, it's nothing to laugh at NA... 10.9x full weight and has the potential to go faster, it will be a single digit producer on NO2. Small Cams Love NO2!
You will have to pull timing in one fashion or another, Check with your tuner... it sounds cheesy but the NO2 sponsors have been the most help full people I've dealt with, even when I start the conversation "I'm not going to buy for a year, just planning and window shopping".
BTW: Just plan for a 150, start with 100, even numbers of 50 are the easiest to deal with and usually come with the kits.
