Default Tuning for higher elevations-C6Z06 ?

My set up is a HSW 100 wet shot on stock lower end C6Z06 with Lethal cam, LG 1-7/8 headers w/ORP, FAST 102mm intake, killer bee filter, TR6 plugs. The heads are milled .030 with stainless exhaust valves. Its set up through a HSW microedge and interface. My questions is I 'm moving from 1200ft elevation to El Paso, with around 4000ft. I understand a higher octane gas won't be available, so how does this affect the plate system and how should it be tuned? thanks from Afghanistan

Usually with thinner air you would add a little more timing in, but i doubt you have the much pulled out for a 100 shot. It would also be a good idea to switch to a BR7EF non-projected to plug when you get a chance.

You should be able to take some fuel out of it and add a little more timing. Key word "should" haha.

Also I agree with the plug switch. Get away from the tr6 with that setup even on a 100 shot.

I dunno if your talking about pump gas octane ratings but generally the 91 octane rating at our higher elevation equals the 93 octane at the lower elevations. From what I've been told anyways. Listen to these guys though they know what they are talking about.

I haven't had a chance to fine tune my setup but I have safely sprayed about a 100 shot on 91 pump gas here in Las Cruces.

I safely spray a 150 hit up here in abq on 91 octane fuel man. 91 is 93 @ higher elevations.

No. You will need a retune. Rich is not safe.

I also agree that rich is not safe, but let me put my opinion out there. Since this car is most likely a Mass Air Flow car, do you guys still think that his setup will be that rich? I know for all of our carb and speed density setups we are used to pulling a little fuel with elevation, but I don't think it's necessary on a MAF car, thoughts?

Just to let you know, El Paso is 4000ft but a lot it is 5000+, seen it get as high as 6000 during the summer. Crazy. Depends on DA.
We had a few 93 octane places here before but as stated, it was not needed. Been using it for years and so have many friends with Nitrious w/head an cam kits. You'll be just fine man. Switch the plugs. After that it's all gravy too bad your times are gonna be higher than what you want.
If anything...get on our local drag racing board www.southwestdrags.com
Plenty of El Paso and the surrounding area's fastest cars. Al ZO6 is on there, he's a regular on this board. Enjoy it while your here. Plenty of things to do here. Lot's of cruise in's, shows etc. Log on man. again southwestdrags.com

When I worked at a smog station, LT's passed as long as all the sensors were working properly and such. Just because you have long tubes doesn't mean you'll flunk.
