Default Upgrades Needed for 150 shot?

My car has heads, cam and a built stock CI ls1 (eagle rods/crank je pistons). delphi 42lb injectors, Vig single disc 3600 stall, circle D built tranny, and moser rear.

The cam is a tsunami with patriot gold springs and stock rockers if that matters.

It put down 461/409 on the dyno.

Wondering what all I would need to safely spray 150 shot in terms of fuel supply, and if my vig single disc will hold up ok.

I'm guessing a walbro 255 would be needed, is that all I would need?

Fuel pump is a must. What type of kit are you looking at using? A window switch would be a good idea too so you won't spray through the shifts.

I'm planning on upping my pills to 150 next weekend, I'm curious about this as well. I heard the wally you have to do a little fabbing with, but the racetronix is just a straight drop-in and go. Can anybody else give any first hand feedback about this?

Fuel pump for sure. If your tranny is built you can spray through the shifts just fine. I wouldn't worry about the converter having any problems.

Some say the walbro fits like a glove, others say they have to modify the sending unit a little bit.

I will be using a plate kit with the hsw interface. (those work ok for you guys?) Will definitely be using all the goodies like window switch, fpss, etc..

bingo.

Like INTENSS said, I also run a 150 shot occasionally and I have 41lb injectors with the racetronix fuel pump and hotwire kit. It took me a little over a hour to cut and make a new aluminum trap door, take out the old pump, put in the racetronix and run all the new wiring. Easiest mod I have done to the car, and the best IMO.

its cheap insurance. Spend the extra money and do it right, once.

I also just noticed you said you will be running the hsw plate kit with the microedge. Thats the exact setup I am running and I cant be happier. Make sure you run br7ef plugs....

Either fuel pump works man. I have the Walbro 255 to each his own they both work. Get good fuel in your can and like stated about get #7 plugs make sure they are non proj.

A 1 gallon stand-alone fuel cell wouldn't be a bad purchase either. If you are handy you could just build one.

Stand alone is not necessary unless the motor fuel system is not up to par. Don't waste money on that part, many spray a 150 shot even 200 without it.

That are more advantages to a stand alone than just meeting fuel enrichment requirements.

^^^ Like being able to run race gas on the nitrous side? What else? Please enlighten me. I dot feel it's necessary until you ge to the bigger shots. To each his own, just don't want some one to waste there money on something they don't need when a stock upgrade system will do the job.

I agree on this one, I'm in the process of ordering a bunch of stuff and running 150 wet shot. I plan to just upgrade the pump and thats it.

I agree that a simple pump swap would handle it. As well? No.

I was not so much disagreeing as trying to make it clear that was your opinion.

Tuning is easier as well with the ability to tune fuel pressure independently. Its not going to give you any lean spike along with, yes, running race gas. While you don't consider it necessary, it is no doubt a better way to do it weather not it is overkill is a different matter.

No need for any attitude. i was not challenging your knowledge just trying to paint a more clear picture for the newer users.

Point taken. Not trying to challenge you either, because it does sound like you know what you are talking about. Just a matter of opinion.

The lean spike is from the nitrious getting there before the fuel this only happens for a split second so its not problem.By adding a standalone your not going to get rid of the lean spike when you are spraying fuel pressure equals 60 psi nitrious pressure 950 psi wins everytime
