Default Double check before buying ls6 intakes

Just want to post a reminder to verify ls6 intakes before you buy.

I just had a customer send in an intake for plumb work. I noticed the brass fittings in it. I go to double check the intake casting number. Sure enough it is a non-egr intake from a 97-00 corvette.

12561184 or 12573572 These are the ls6 casting number. Anything other than this is not an ls6 intake. Also if it has brass inserts where the fuel rails bolt on it is not an ls6 intake.

Luckily I have had this problem happen before and I usually double check when they come in. This customer could have had a lot of money invested in a worthless intake. Not too sound rude but this is a benefit of dealing with a shop that is not just part slingers. Three of us here own modded and sprayed fbodys. We build, break, and race these cars just like all of the racers do here.

Just keep an eye out and try and deal with honest people and honest shops. best of luck and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone here.

The only question I have is about the brass inserts. I know my intake is flat on the bottom and I had to change coolant crossover when I installed it. But it does have the brass inserts. What would it have instead.

Tell you what. I am going to take the intake off of my car so that the customer can get his car back together tomorrow. I will document the difference's so that everyone can check. Too much of people's hard earned money gets taken by fraudulent people. I surely don't mind spending a little time to help out the guys who let me have this job. I hope the best for you man. Pic's will be up tomorrow.

Nitrous Outlet, that's why I trust them. They are specialist in LSx cars so they know N/A and nitrous power, they designed there systems for our cars .. not like others ( UNIVERSAL ) ! ..

The brass fittings are not a good sign to go by, different years and models got different things, and it can be altered.

Part number or flat bottom.
