Default What cause *LEAN SPIKE* with N2O Outlet plate and standalone

I have F-Body Specific 92mm Plate kit ( with Hardlines ) from Nitrous Outlet along with Nitrous Outlet F-Body Standalone that located in the fuse area

We dynoed the SS with the recommended jetting for 150 shot after setting the FUEL pressure to 55 and N2O pressure to 950

We noticed that there was a lean spike up to 16:1 AFR when the system hits ! .. I know this problem might be happened when I'm running in stock fuel system .. but I'm running standalone and still have a lean spike ! .. any advice ??? ..

How long does the lean spike happen? 1 sec? Does it recover fast?

I think Dave spoke with you yesterday.

Have you verified that the fuel pressure is not dropping on the activation of the nitrous?

Are both the Pump and the tank grounded?

How long is the line from the fuel solenoid?

Can you post the dyno graph so I can see how long the lean spike last for? What was the AFR after the spike?

Hi LTx Nitrous Record Holder Mr.Tony
Yes as what you said when we set the graph to read by time it shows 1 sec of lean spike then the AFR goes back to 11:8 ~ 12:1

Never worried about a split second lean spike, wont hurt anything.

Changing Line length from the noid to the nozzle is the only thing I've seen that helps.
IF it was mine I'd let it eat.

Also you may need to add a bleeder jet at the fuel solenoid. This is a fitting with a 9 thousands jet and a hose back to the dedicated. This makes sure the fuel is at the solenoid when the system fires. Just another way to tune out lean spikes.

If the spike is only a second it will not hurt anything. Please post the graph and a picture of your engine bay.
Thanks
Dave

Couldn't take pictures cause I'm at company camp away from my home where the car is setting there but in the attachment this pic was during installation so things were still not hook up probably but it can work ( I know I need to clean the engine bay lol )

So can you Dave or one at N2O Outlet set me up with the fitting, 9 thousands jet and hose to the reverse line ??

I couldn't scan the graph today, mostly will get it to you tomorrow but as what I stated before it is only 1 second or less

Sounds like it recovers real quick. As said a sec of spike aint nuttin to go crazy over. Before you go crazy with bleed'n through a jet. Crack n bleed the fuel fitting at the noid with pressure on, make a hit and see if that helps.

No pics but you install a guage port fitting at the noid with a jet fitting and .020 jet and a -3 or -4 braided line returned to the cell or tank.

Here's the gauge fitting.

You will need the following.

- 4 Manifold.
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...3&product=3786

This compression 90 will work as the jet holder. You will remove the nut and ferrel because that is where the jet will go.
http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...8&product=4135

You will need a .009 jet. They are not on our website but we do have them.

You will then need a 3an line from the bleed off fitting back to the tank. I suggest measuring to see what lenth you need.

At the tank you will need a 3an bulk head fitting. Not on our websiste but we do have them. They come in straights or 90s.

Dave,

Do you have any pictures of this type of setup??? Do you have to install the 3an bulk head into the tank (drill a new hole in the tank)?

Thanks

What about a one way fuel check valve???

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performan...50021/10002/-1

Would it slow the fuel pressure down???

It has less than 1 DPM leak back which is good but over time it will still allow fuel to drain back. May work ok if you are making back to back passes but after sitting for a while the 1st hit will still have lean spike.

I would not worry about a 1 sec lean spike. Let it eat!
