Default keep frying purge button!! help!

i have gone thru 3 buttons for my purge. it literally melted the inside or fried the lil meta ring thats pushed to make the connection.

its such a simple hookup so i dont get it.
battery/ground.

seems like it burned the wussy buttons so i got a bigger heavy button.......well now i fried my solenoid.
grrrrrrrrrrrr

so 3 part question.
*what am i doing wrong to fry buttons.
*i have a dry shot with 2 nitrous noids, can i use one noid for nitrous and one as purge for now?
*i took apart the fried noid and the ground wire was pulled away from the tight wound coil so i have no idea how to connect it. anyone have a cutaway of a noid?

i searched and saw a few people saying its ok to sue nitrous noied for purge and i saw that the noid should draw whatever amps it needs to open....so why wuld it fry the button that came with the set?

do vendors repair noids?
nitrous noids are NOS
purge noid is dynotune

thank you!

what is the exact solenoid you are using...it is likely that the solenoid is pulling more current than the switch can handle. Wiring in a relay to allow the higher current solenoid to be powered from the battary yet be controled via the switch on a lower current circuit.

Ya I was just going to say that it may need to be on a relay.

I've always wired any solenoid to a relay. Why would you try to run that much current thru a switch?

the instructions dont say a relay is mandatory.

shouldnt the current have stopped if the switched fried?

That small solenoid should not have needed a relay. Either you had something pinching a wire, bad connection, or it was a faulty coil to start with. If the wire is burnt out of the coil already odds are the coil is melted to the tower and the solenoid is trash.

You may call Dyno tune and talk to them on it.

If you want to upgrade to one of our solenoids let me know.
