Default How not to wire Nitrous

I decided this winter to move my switches from the panel under the steering wheel to the ashtray.. Upon removing the panel I found quite a mess, done by a "professional" shop.. I completely rewired the nitrous.. Looks much nicer now.. I can't believe how many splices they used.. What a joke..

After

Sorry, haven't taken a pic of the switchplate. Has the usual, arm/heater/purge and added cutout and linelock to plate

**** wiring I removed

Nice job on the re-do! it sucks that you seldom get what you pay for!
The old saying should be re-written!

I couldn't believe the mess they made.. Every wire was spliced multiple times. It was like they picked pieces of wire off the floor and spliced them together until they had the length they wanted.. Pretty sad.. I sure learned a lot about wiring on the re-do.. Should of done it myself 3 years ago.. Live and learn..

Really, I myself have seen some "professional" jobs before that looked similar. I so wish i could afford to open my own shop, not that I am that good but it's just the fact that I care that much not to do such as you posted. I guess they figured you would never pull the panel

I agree you pay good money for something and get a crappy job.

I did my wiring and have done a few other cars around. If you take your time, do the job right, and make it neat, it works much better. I can not stand to trouble shoot on something that looks like a birdnest of wires. It's kind of like a pet peive of mine to make it neat. Here's a pic of my wiring job.

and my switch panel I made.

Is that pressure in the center console? Also looks a lot better Larry. I bet you are counting the days.

Thanks Ryan. I am going to shove it down the throat of the guy who did it.. If he's still in business.. That's why I saved all the wiring I removed..
