Default Help Wiring Window Switch

I have the Summit Racing dual window switch. The instructions that came with it are kinda confusing. It has 6 wires. Black for ground and red for 12v source....no problem. Yellow is for a rpm signal. Witch im guessing the best way to go would be the green wire on the coil packs?
But then it says if your using a low voltage rpm signal and the signal is not detected to use the the white wire??
Then im sure sure about the others...blue is ground above and below the set window, but no IN the window. And the purple is ground in the window...how do I wire that up? Thanks im still a newbie when it comes to wiring up nitrous. Also dont know how to set the window either?

the window switch provides the ground for the relay. So you hook up your 12v power and ground to provide power for the switch... then you hook the ground side of the relay up to the switched wire (purple) which will ground the relay when its within the window. You wouldnt need to hook up the blue wire with nitrous.. Unless you have something turned on that you want off while spraying...? cant think of anything really lol...

As far as tach... i would recommend using the white tach wire (should be pin 10) which if im looking at the correct directions would be hooked up the the WHITE wire on the switch. It appears the yellow wire is for hooking to high voltage coil. The white tach wire is easily accessed next to the pcm and easy to run a wire inside the car with the grommet right under the pcm (pcm needs to be removed to access gromet). Believe you need to set the pulse to 2.

Wow ok lol. Thanks. Do I just piggy back that pin 10 wire? I hate to cut the factory wiring harness

I cut the wire wire and soldered/shrink wrapped it with a pigtail. I had the same feeling as you which is why I soldered it... dont trust any other way. As far as the WOT switch it just goes in series with the wiring. So for example you would have

12+ volt switched (your nitrous arming button) -> wot switch -> to relay (85/86)side -> window switch which provides the ground.

the 30 and 87 pins on the relay provide the switched power for the solenoids.

LOL thanks. That actually helps a lot. What about the blue wire? Do I use it?

no problem... glad my super advanced and time consuming diagram was helpful... lol...

blue wire... nope... it does the opposite of the purple wire... would keep something ON when its outside the window.. for example.. if you had your window switch set to spray 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm then that blue wire would keep the ground active from 1000rpm to 2990 rpm and from 6010 rpm+ and blue wire would be OFF from 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm. basically useless for a nitrous app

Well I have one more question. My whole reason behind getting this window switch is to turn the nitrous off during the shifts because it killed my last tranny. Well If I have a window set from 4000-6300. If the rpms never fall below 4000 during the shift it would just keep spraying because its in the window right?

Yes if your Rpms never fall below that 4000 mark then the nitrous will continue to spray until it hits below 4k

not entirely true... the nitrous will shut off at 6300 hundred and there is usually a small delay in the switch before it rehits... It wont shut off while between 4000-6300 rpms unless you go past the 6300 rpm... then it shuts off. it wont turn the nitrous back on until the switch realizes its back in the window. Most people set the window for 200 rpm before the shift. If you want to run push button activation just make sure you keep the window switch to keep things safe.. You would wire it in series just like the wot switch.

See thats what I didnt know about. It doesnt say anything about a delay or how to adjust the delay to let it to shift.

yea i dont know anymore then that... i know i tested my window switch with a parking lamp to test the switch and noticed a slight delay when falling back into the window. didnt really time it or anything.
