The timing needs to be in the ball park while you get the fuel leaned out or you will hurt it.... as you lean it out it will show more timing thats why I suggested going to colder plug and or pulling more timing out.
A rich tune will mask to much timing.... then when you lean it out ... spark plugs tips wind up missing.![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)

I understand !!! off course i need to have the mixture accurate before i decide final timing, but should the blue line be on the 90° bendt or may it be just right below ???
thanks a lot

Best pic I could find.
The timing mark in the pic is about as asgressive as we ever get, 90% of the time we want it closer to the end or farther away from the bend.
When you hear people say they want there mark past or at the bend they are talking about N/A set ups.
Now the disclaimer.... every motor likes something different timing wise, where we run ours might not be the best/fastest on your motor.
We like to run ours leaner than most with low timing.

I dont claim to be an expert (I did stay at a holiday inn last night) but I have learned alot from looking at TONS of plugs over the last few years. Hell I walk around the pits looking at other guys plugs just to see where they run them and how there cars run with the plug looking that way.
Just trying to help a few guys not hurt parts.

Inaccurate?
Its not easy to jet a system when motor tunes vary from 12.4-13.2 by themselves. Also they have to be safe for someone who is just going to put in the recommended jets and roll with them. They are rich no doubt but as far as just putting a jet card in a system there is not a choice but to be.

Well it is inaccurate imo. The majority of the ls members here, including myself, have found to be super rich with the fuel jetting set by a few companies. It "seems" to be even richer for those running bigger shots. I'm only referring to those running high fuel pressure setups, 50-60 wot psi. Super rich is not safe!
i picked up 13mph from NA but i didnīt have enough traction for the full 200shot so i used my controller (NOS Launcher) to ramp it in started whith 25% 2800 and up to 100% 4500
best result after the day Et 10.3@140 , 6.7@109 60ft 1.57 still spinning out of the hole , i have 3.42 gears ,mn6 tranny and 26" et street on 16inch
i need either better/bigger tires or ramp the shot better.
I did better 60ft on only 100 shots
but thanks for all of your help guys

You think that jetting is heavy my nos plate came with a 62/44 for a 150 shot. I had it down to a 42 and a 65 nitrous jet and it still never did clean up. Motor tune was at about 12.5 a/f too, I know that was o.k. as it never picked up any more power by leaning it out any more (track it never went any faster either)
I could have probably gotten away with a 35 fuel jet and been o.k with it, or gone up to a 78 nitrous jet with that same fuel LOL.
Listen to these guys, what they are telling you is correct.
