What heads are you using? Are going to reuse the 317's that came with your lq4 or do you have a different set of heads? Just trying to find out whats the chamber size of your head to see what cc of piston you would need.

Here's a link to Wiseco and just look for you 4.000 bore since you are not stroking it and 3.622 stroke. Look at the compression ratio with the different cc heads too.

Yeah I'm useing the 317's. Goin to have them ported and polished, maybe milled to get the compression up. Also I'm boring the block .030 over as well. Thanks for the link man!

The stock cc of your 317's are 70cc, so get the piston that corresponds to the cc of your head. You did say you were going to shave the heads so you would want to know what cc you are going to end up with so you can get the correct piston and keep you compression in check to run pump gas.

He knows the name to go with fellas but he needs the piston that would specifically be for his setup.

4.030 bore, heads shaved which yield a 65cc chamber = 10.6:1 which would call for part# k398x3

If you leave the heads alone and don't shave them, which would save you a couple of bucks you can get k447x3 which would get you 11.6:1

So take your pick to get the piston you need for your desired compression ratio.

Everything in JE's site for LS motors is for a a 4.000 stroke. I looked at Summit and the only thing for a stock 3.622 stroke has a 3.905 bore, no 4.030 bore like the OP needs.

Get the part number for that piston. I didn't see anything for a stock stroke 4.000 or 4.030 bore.

You sure he isn't getting something from them thats not a shelf piston?

Thank you!! Thats what I was asking about.. I thought that if you mill the heads it would give you more compression? Which is what I want correct? Higher compression.?
Anyways if that is correct then what spec of a piston would you recommend?
