Default direct port help

I picked up 98 LS1 TA mods are in sign. It has a direct port NOS setup I'm fairly new to nitrous but have messed with it a little on my old LT1 but never a direct port with a stand alone. I have contacted a nitrous vendor numerous times and explained what I wanted and sent pics as well, but have yet (weeks later) to hear back. So...I was wondering if any LS1 tech buddies can help me out? First thing is,I have a 0.24 NOS jet on the fuel side and nitrous side. I want to run a 200 shot so I need to know what plugs to run and at what gap? I know I need a timing controler but not sure what one to go with LNC-002? Or the timing tuner? Do I need a fuel pressure gauge on my stand alone reulator? I want to get it set up right before I spray so I don't hurt anything. Here are some pics, If you see anything I need let me know. Any help is appreciated.

I wouldnt start with a 200 shot of you are new to nitrous. Call Nitrous Outlet and they can get you going in the right direction and the additional parts you need.

I would run the NGK 8 plug gapped between 26-28. You do need a pressure gauge on the stand alone to adjust the fuel pressure while you are flowing it. I have used the Ramchargers timing tuner in the past with excellent results. I have a LNC-002 on my car now but I only use it for the two-step. I pull the timing with HP Tuners. Like Minytrker stated, I would start with a smalled shot like 150 and work my way up from there. This is exactly how I started when I jumped into the nitrous arena.

i really dont wanna pull timing off the computer unless i have to cause i wanna get as much hp as o can na. and i never understood why you would start at a small shot and go up, couldnt you just pull alot of timing and run it a little rich and dial it in from their? what should the fuel pressure be on the stand alone?

why are you running a square jet spread on a Fogger? That is asking for trouble.....I would do a .026N and a .020F at 5.5psi as a starting point. Make short blast and check plugs...Adjust fuel pressure up or down as needed...

Not only do you need a fuel guage, you will need a flow kit if you want to do it right. You need to set the pressure flowing instead of just dead-head setting it. Steve Johnson sells a kickass flow tool. It makes tunning so much easier.

Because the bigger the shot the bigger the damage if your tune is off. You have to have a starting point (base tune) to spray to check your plugs, if its way off your less likely to hurt the motor with a smaller shot. Way to rich isnt safe, its hard on the rings and hurt the motor also.
Your fuel pressure depends on how dedicated is set up. The most common PSI is either 5.5 psi, 10psi or high pressure at 58psi. our fuel pressure will determine what jetting to use because they all use different jetting. In order to set your fuel pressure you need a fuel flow gauge, Nitrous Outlet has a nice one. When you order a fuel flow gauge be sure to order a few sets of spark plugs because you will go through several sets tuning.
I like to use EFI and a custom operating system to pull timing when the nitrous cuts on. I use the lingenfelter box on cars I cant use an EFI COS on.

well i shouldnt say them, it was grham at nitrous outlet i spoke with him on the the phone about 3 or 4 weeks ago. he told me to send him some pics of my set up to this email he gave me so i did twice within a week, with no responce so i sent him 2 more to the email he has on the web site. still no responce. and i pmd him on here once or twice (no responce)and these emails were about 1 or 2 a week so i believe thats plenty he would have got something. i know their known for good customer service buti dont get why he wont respond. even on this thread i know hes all over the nitrous threads helping people i just dont get it. so i would rather spend my money else where if im going to get ignored.

.

I also don't like square jetting.
I'm actually a big spread fan, and I am at a 7-8 spread, with ~7 psi.

im guessing square jetting is running the same number fuel jet as nitrous? thats just what was in the car when i bought it.
why is it called square jetting?
im running a low pressure pump i believe if that helps

They say square when they are the same size just like when your carb is all the same.

I prefer a 8 spread, so that the fuel pressure is a little higher, and the fluctuations aren't as critical.
I also am a huge fan of an actual flow tool, and I check my stuff every time out.
There is no way I would ever trust one of those little cheap gauges when spraying.
I made my own tool and it works perfect, and is dead nuts accurate.

Good luck.

Square jetting is just what the OLD NOS charts use to recommend. It is Super rich.

I would start around 26/20 on 10psi. I do agree tho with some of the others. I would start with 150hp just to make sure the system is firing on all cylinders and that the tune up is not in left field. Just no reason to rush it and hurt a motor.

The plugs I would start with are the Br7ef, NGK Stocking # 1049.

The LNC-002 is currently on a redesign. It should be out for sale fairly soon. It is IMO a much better part. Quality and the tech support is great from the guys at Lingenfelter.

I would run a fuel pressure gauge on the stand alone. It helps with getting your starting point as well as making sure when you are making adjustments they are in line with what you are wanting.

Ill shoot you a PM as well.
