thanks for the response.. yeah mine takes like forever. Just got my nitrous system installed but didnt expect for the bottle to take that long to warm up.

And I thought it would heat up in like a minute or something

They do take a while the first time. After they are warm they don't take long at all. I use a hot box at the track to keep my other bottles warm. Saves time and the battery!

Yeah, sometimes they work too well. Not exactly something you want to pull out while rolling down the street or at a sanctioned event.

haha yeah and I doubt a cigarette lighter would do much?

Cant believe how long it takes to heat this thing up!

I sprayed it when it was about 600psi and I didnt even feel a difference on a 100 shot .

Guess ill have to turn the bottle heater before I even start the car from now on.
Should of got a 15lb bottle but it doesnt fit in the spare tire area with a bottle opener on there.

Definitely keep an eye on your battery. A good 5 to 10 minutes with the heater can suck all the current out of the battery if you are not careful. Nothing more embarrasing then not being able to start your car because you were warming things up.

I have a red top and 15 minutes is the limit for one round. But, it doesn't get charged up enough at the track to keep doing rounds and warming up new bottles. 15 Minutes will get one 15 pound bottle heated up good, but my alternator doesn't make enough juice in 2 minutes during a round from staging lane through return road to get the battery charged up enough. You repeat that enough times then shove a cold 15 pound bottle in the car and that equates to one very dead battery. That's what you need to be careful of.

That being said, im not sure I get the point. If I were to leave the bottle heater on ( i have a 10# bottle) and leave the car at idle for 10 minutes, could i be facing any problems? Still new to this game, is there anything else like this that I should know about?

hondadream50, a bottle warmer warms the bottle to the desired pressure for maximim performance gains.

NX jsut recently came out with this thing called Fire and Ice. Its $250 like their bottle heater, but it will also cool the bottle. it uses a fan and a ceramic heat exchanger i believe. pretty cool...

I had my heater on and off all night at the track with no battery issues. I have a new yellow top. Takes about 10 minutes to get to 600 to 1050psi.

The issue is at the track. Sure you could leave it idling to avoid killing the battery but you want your motor to be as cool as possible. Many guys push their cars through the staging lanes so as not to heat up before the run.

At $8.50 a gallon for race gas, you don't want to leave the car idling all night.
