I have been struggling for quite a while to realize the potential of my car with the mods listed in signature. I had really come to a standstill until I happened to meet up with a fellow racer, Mark Williams, at a track in Quebec. Mark runs an 8 second Nitrous car. He has helped me a ton and given me advice that has taken me from high 10's to low 10's in just weeks. The major changes he suggested was to adjust my rear shocks from 7 to 3 (he thought the rear suspension was way to stiff) and to lower the pressure on my E/T Street Drag Radials from 18 llbs to 14.5 llbs. That seemed to really help (new best 60 ft@ 1.532 vs. previous average of 1.7 - 1.8). Also I was running my progressive on a RPM ramp and cutting the nitrous off before each shift. This was resulting in a re-start of the ramp on every shift. I changed to a time ramp and adjusted the N20 shut-off so that I spray through the shifts and that has also helped. On Sunday I ran a 10.34, 10.35 and 10.26 (250 Shot with 88 N20 and 42 Fuel with 50 llbs pressure in the dedicated) so I was pretty happy! I was unable to run my NANO on those passes so once I get that back on-line I think I can run a few more MPH and tenths...we'll see next week! Of course now I can't help looking at getting into the 9's. Once again thanks to Nitrous Outlet and NANO Direct for always being available to give assistance and advice!

Thanks Carter 01! I read the article about your car and getting a pratically stock car on a 250 shot in the 9's is just remarkable! I see you are running a trans-brake to assist with those great 60 ft times. I'm going to be researching more about that for my built 4L60E, talking to Yank to determine if my Pro-Yank 3600 stall converter can be tweaked and gearing to 3.73s to see if I can get to those 9's. Thanks again for the encouragment!

Thanks. I hear where you are coming from. I just went up from a 78 N20 and 42 Fuel (pulling 7 degrees of timing from base of 29 degrees) for a 200 shot to the 88 and 44 (Pulling 10 degrees of timing) for the 250 shot. It seemed clear right off that the 250 jetting was not making significantly more power and was way fat. I reduced the fuel jet to a 42 and lowered the fuel pressure in the dedicated to acheive my target 11.7:1 A/F on the 10.24 run. I also added back 3 degrees of timing. I actually ended up running the same fuel jet and timing on the 250 shot as the 200 shot?? My times on the 250 shot were not significantly faster than the jetting on the 200 shot so I'm thinking something is holding the power back. I have not had a chance to speak with Graham at Nitrous Outlet to get his thoughts on that. I will definately add back some fuel on the NANO.

I hear you Graham. Once the times flattened out on the 88 and 42 jets I added timing back until I stopped adding MPH (ended up pulling total 7 degrees from base of 29 degrees). I definately need to pull the plugs soon to take the mystery out of the equation! Perhaps I'll get an opportunity this weekend....
Anyways, congrats on the new bests. keep working and it will go quicker.

Fuel jets are not generic for everyone. Weather plays a huge role in how much fuel and timing most run. Many people would surprised what fuel jet and we run in our car depending on 3000foot da or 0 da.
Anyways, congrats on the new bests. keep working and it will go quicker.
