I didnt know that the word BOOM had anything to do with how a cam would react. It was worded more like will my engine go BOOM on nitrous.

With that cam you should be safe for a 100-150 wet shot. I ran 150 all day on my 228/232 cam. The key is good gas, 100 at least, better to spend the extra money on gas than a new motor like me.

-note-
My car would be running today if I ran 100, try to learn from me. Gas is important

with a G5X3 I run a 175 on 91 octane and stock fuel system with 28 degrees of timing... its all in how you use it, who sets it up and the install! if your a beginner, jet to 100 or so, average jump to the 150, and if your pretty good with cars, know a problem before it happens etc, go 175 or 200.

How safe some n20 on motor your motor is going to be has nothing to do with your cam.

mula...is a wise man....

It's about (the quality of the) fuel, spark plugs, and timing for a street car.

Nitrous won't care what cam is in it.

i personally wouldnt spray to much on it. no more than say 150. 110lsa is to much overlap. nitrous likes low rpm's.

If you think 110 LSA, is going to prevent it from making power in low rpms, your better do more homework.

Not trying to be an ***, but one part of a cams numbers dont dictate everything about it. We did a cam with a 110 LSA, that made 419 rwhp with stock heads, at 6250 rpm. Not exaclty a high rpm screamer

That cam will peak around 6000-6100 on the motor if its install about 4 degrees advanced, couple hundred later if straight up.

Tight LSA does make some more cylinder pressure, which can be compounded with nitrous use.

Actually nitrous DOESNT like Low RPMS... quickest way to start detonating or blowing the engine apart is load the engine too much on a high shot... If what you meant by low RPM was just not shifting high, then my bad... but with the shot I run I wont hit it under 3500 just because it loads the engine too much... backfires are a bitch!

I've been spraying a 150-wet kit on my car pilled at 3000-6400. Never had a pop or a backfire. Oh, yeah I have. As soon as I am finished racing and let my foot off the gas, pop, pop, pop. Runs rich in the upper rpm's. As far as overlap is concernd, isn't it more likley you will go boom, for lack of a better word, with a cam on a 117 lsa then on a 110? I have wondered this myself.

3000 is fine, I was more talking about 2000ish... unless you have the gearing for it, it produces a lot of engine load.

Busted The only negative to your cam is the overlap/ higher cylinder pressures, which is one reason why I chose not to spray on my 230/224 cam. You should be able to spray a 150shot all day long.

Well I wouldn't agree too much with the overlap thing. What is important with a N2O cam is the exhaust duration/lift split. The cylinder charge will go higher as shot increases, therefore it needs more time to exit the combusted gases. So a 222/224 would act better than a 224/224 of the same lsa under juice. That is true for cams untill 112 lsa, below that like your 110 lsa the pressure gets so high that it actually exits quicker and then a 224/222 110lsa would act better. In any case your cam is not nitrous friendly for big shots since it is an equal pattern cam. But that doesn't mean you can't spray it you just have to do it gradually and monitor KR/timming/AFR.
