Default Nitrous Gauges Question

Can i pull off the nitrous bottle pressure gauge off my bottle and put it on a 2 pillar pod and mount it at the front were i can keep an eye on it from the drivers seat or do i need to buy another type of nitrous pressure gauge to do something like that. I need to mount my pressure gauge and a/f gauge on a 2 pillar pod in front so i can keep an eye on things.

.

The gauge port on most bottles are NOT after the valve, so if you remove it you would need specialty fitting to do what you want.
I tap into the line for my dash gauge.

so you bascially get a y fitting of some sort and then get a long hose take it to the front and buy a 2nd gauge to mount in the front as well as leave the gauge thats already on the bottle.

Exactly.
On my bottles is a gauge that stays and I use for warming in the trailer.
At the line adapter is a port that some use for a dash gauge or computer, I use it for my computer.
At the firewall bulkhead fitting, I have a T-fitting, and tie in my gauge there.
That way I can never forget to turn on bottle, because the gauge is at zero, until I throw the 1/4 valve.
I would definitely never remove the bottle gauge, I would add an adapter.
You really need to know the pressure at all times, especially in the heat of summer!!

Good luck.

Or you could run the single supply line into your engine compartment, Y it there with one going to the gauge in your pillar and the other to your solenoid. Then keep that gauge on your bottle. The bottle gauge will tell you the pressure inside the bottle with the valve closed, and the one on the dash will show the pressure in the bottle (equal to that in the line) with the valve opened.

Or get an electric gauge, and just have to run a couple wires.

Just don't start an engine that had pressure on the noid.
They had a thread on another forum with engines that blew up when N2O leaked in to them.
That's why I always use a safety valve now, I learned my lesson after seeing those cars burn to the ground!!!

I'm liking the idea of electric gauge??
I've never trusted elect gauges before, but this is 2011, maybe it's time to reconsider.
It would be much safer, and I would have less fittings & lines running all over the place??

i had a friend run glowshift gauge and I thought they were pretty nice, especially for the price. I plan on using a few for my upcoming nitrous build.
