Default Is it worth changing from a ms4 to a ms3??

Hey guys, I have a ls1 that has a forged bottom end, 243 heads, FAST 92/92, and a ms4 cam. i am going to spray it with a 250-300 shot on a nitrous outlet plate. I am taking the heads off in about a week to send them to Texas Speed to be ported.

Is it worth changing the cam to a ms3 so it will be better on nitrous? are there any gains on spray for the ms3 over the ms4? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be worth it to call eps and have a custom ground cam if your gonna spray that much juice.

ive hit mine with 150, and it loved it. I plan on turning it up to 200 maybe even 250. I have heard that the ms3 is a lil more nitrous friendly but worth changing, idk, maybe someone from tsp will chime in with all the good info about the splits and lsa and stuff.

Ms3 is a better cam then the ms4 cam. I know the ms3 is a proven cam. I have know few people here in the midwest that has the ms4 and were pretty disappointed with the results. If you have the money the best way is to have one custom grind for your application.

I would actually do a decent cam instead of either one of those.

You're barely approaching the threshold to even need a custom nitrous cam...

I'll be happy to take that MS3 off your hands if you can't use it.

He is right. Going from 2 different cams at a 250 hit isn't going to make much difference and a custom cam is not needed. Once you go past that is when you need something more custom for your set-up.

I would still call Geoff@EPS to see if he would think it would be necessary to get something custom from him instead of going off the shelf.

i didnt read the whole thread, my phone wont load but on that big of a shot you should be thinking custom grind, imo the ms4 is better than the ms3 , but custom grind spray cam is what you should look ito, eps ftw

i think hawk223 had a ms4 and switched to a custom grind and he picked up a good amount at the track, i think his name is hawk223 he has a black ws6 with 17 bogart front runners, maybe shoot him a pm, he is a really nice guy and maybe can give y a some useful info, or call eps,tsp etc
