I'm not in the hunt, nor am even close to being a contender, but I am following closely. I'm in the middle of making some changes now to try and make it into the 9's with my setup still with the 4l60e and a/c on a .067 jet unported 243s and 3500+ weight. Learning alot from watching these guys like Cam, Carter, Noyzee, Junkie & co.

I think you will find your goal shortly. I'd be willing to bet with close to a tenth of your 60' if you could find a way to shave it off you'd be very close.

For the raceweight, jet size and low first gear ratio of the 4L60e working against you AND it being a daily driver you have one bad *** car.

I am working on some updates right now to try and address the 4l60e- I bought one of those 6 pinion planets with the 2.84 1st gear and the trans is at FLT right now. I see on avg 1400 rpm between 1-2 and 1200 between 2-3, so I am actually thinking about sending the converter out for a re-stall too as I dont think the planets are going to get me to around 1000 for the shift extension. I am also considering adding some gear since I cross the stripe @ 6100. Little by little though, I want to make only 1 change at a time.
I think getting this thing to 60ft a little better is going to be tough without a trans brake or taking some more weight out. Although, I may be wrong as its still spinning some now.

Depending on what rear gear you have now I wouldn't change the rear gear necessarily, because you can have the converter changed to where the shift extension is where you want it without having to change the gear. A 3.55-3.73 is what I would use even with the change from 3.06 first to 2.84 first. It will help it get off the line without spinning by taking away torque multiplication.
Get the extension around 850-900rpm and it will really wake up. Mine when it ran so well on motor had about 700-750rpm drop. Now this is a stock cube motor with no guts down low so it needed to be spun, a bigger motor can utilize a larger extension or a smaller one with a tighter converter.

Kinda apples to oranges but I went 1.29 60' off the footbrake. The converter has to be right though.

finally got out to the track tonight to make a few motor hits and start tuning the suspension and spray. Its going to be an interesting year thats for sure, lots of fun, lots to learn. It was the cars first time seeing any nitrous, had the car jetted for a 200 hit on the progressive, but for some reason the progressive was acting up and we decided to just hit it out of the hole. well the radials didnt like it much, but car runs really well on spray, gotta work with the timing and fuel a bit but overall it was a good learning experience. first pass on spray the car popped and broke up real bad, got outta it, second pass my dumb *** shifted 1st-3rd. then 3rd pass right before track close the car ran the best of 150.22mph. stay tuned, were gonna work be hard at work on the suspension setup and may even switch to a slick. I was shaking i was so excited, we even went up to the tower to make sure it was right, and verified the rpm on my gopro, and coming thru the traps at 7000 rpm on a 325 radial w/ 390 gears puts it pretty spot on. Needless to say im more than excited.

Josh your setup should run real well i was following yer build.
-my setup is : stock block n crank eagle rods diamond pistons, dart 225's vicjr with quick fuel 850, custom ground bullet nitrous cam (hyd roller), shitty hooker supercomp headers, th400 with brake n 4500ish A-1converter, 12 bolt spool 3.90, on 325 radials. kit consists of holley reg, nx plate kit 82/57 jets. timing was at 28 pulled 8 out for the 200. im eager to get back out and work on the 60' and back up that run. if anybody would care to gimme some suspension tips feel free. car has afco da in rear qa1 up front and tubular everything. raceweigt is probably 2850-2900.

It was spinnin the tire pretty good, so we did get good MPH out of it. It will go 150 again, and the next time it does the ET will match the MPH...
*GAME ON*
-Update. We are going to give the car a once over on Sunday, do a leak down, change the oil and get it ready for the next time out.
