Default Check for properly functioning solenoids

Getting a pair of solenoids that keeps on blowing a fuse and I was wondering how one would check each one to see if they are functioning correctly. I have a feeling one of them is drawing too much current for whatever reason and popping a fuse.
What is the correct way to test each of them? Am I going to be using a multi-meter to check resistance? Amperage? Use a hot wire and ground to see if they click open and shut?

Yes, and we can firm it is good and functional. The in-line fuse continues to blow.

This is how it has been wired in:

What solenoids are you using? What size is the fuse?

How many solenoids? What gauge wire on the power and grounds?

Hmm. No reason why a 40 amp fuse should be blowing. Something is not right.

To eliminate the solenoids being an issue un-wire them from the system. Run the power and ground from the solenoid straight to the battery and touch them briefly to fire the solenoid.

If you have time call the shop and let Chris go over the system and the programming of the controller with you. You may have a bad controller or a short in the wiring.
