Torque #'s seem low.. thoughts??
Hey guys, got the car dyno tuned yesterday and I was pretty happy with the HP numbers but thought the TQ was off.. Only thing I base it on is that my friend made the same HP but way more TQ on his pulls.. My car is almost stock, only things done is B&B exhaust (cat back, still has all 4 cats and manifolds), LS6 intake, and Blackwing cool air.. I have the Zex wet kit and put the 54 pill in it which I was told is a "heavy" 100 shot anyway, car put down 327/331 on motor which the tuner said were good numbers for whats done.. Said most C5's on his dyno can put between 295-310 down stock.. He plays a game where everyone quesses before the pull and his quess was 307 so he was surprised when I was 20hp more than he guessed.. Anyway.. We hit it with the 100 shot and it did exactly as expected putting down 426 hp BUT the torque was only at 467.. My friend that strapped down with is 100 dry shot put almost the exact same HP numbers down but was over 500 TQ to the wheels.. What gives?? We looked for my clutch to slip and tuner said it was holding like a beast so that shouldnt be the problem My friends clutch actually did slip just a tiny little bit but that should bring his numbers down shouldnt it? Not up...

I just thought of one difference in mine and my friends pulls.. I had my window switch at 3300 rpms (not sure why I didnt change it to 3000) and his was set at 3000.. Maybe I would have seen that spike if I would have hit it sooner?? Not trying to chace numbers really, I was just worried something wasnt "right" with the system.. Maybe hitting it up higher in the rpms kept me from getting that high TQ number??

I have no idea what rule #5 is but I'm not surprised that you insult me.. after gettin your *** beat by me as many times as you have I'd be upet too.. Dont worry though, your car still looks ok in the rear view of the Vette, just like it did in the T/A
See ya September 8th for another good ole fashioned *** whoopin
(PS, before Mod's throw us out everyone should know me and Derek are good friends)

i cant help but to laugh at this. being the "buddy" who's car put down higher numbers than you.
I'm the reason you started this thread lol
you know better than anyone that my car will not see the track again this year unless i hit the lottery.
just to clarify, my pull was on a bigger shot than yours, made more NA power than yours, started spraying at 3k (thats where you see the higher torque) and we stopped the pull early due to the clutch slipping. (low peak hp number) there are several reasons as to why my numbers were so different lol
and again, take it from me... with you still being on stock clutch, dont complain about ft/lb not hitting the 500 mark. maybe it will mean a little longevity before having to upgrade your clutch

not since you traded your real car off. and i dont think i have to worry about that for a long time if the wifey sticks to her guns and keeps it a quiet ride
your ws6 was strong at the track for what you had in it

No doubt the WS6 was the stronger car.. I just dont have any interest in putting loud exhaust on the Vette (headers, orx), drag racing isnt what I bought it for.. I bought it for a stepping stone to a C6 LS3 I do happen to enjoy racing it now and then but dont really care if it ends up getting beat by your car... Besides, just wait till I trade this POS off for the C6 LS3, then it's all over for you..
