I have 3.73's already. I drive my car on the street a lot, so I'm not to hot on the rpms even with the 28's.

How bad could they be? My '65 GTO with 3.90 gear and 28's and a 1:1 final drive is very liveable on the street.

I love my 3.42. I already went 11.0 with mine. There is an article in Car Craft about a shoebox in the low 10s with this set up. The turbo guys like 3:1. Plus you get less stress on the parts, so they last longer.

I run a 26" tire and a 3.42. My car crossed the stripe at 6100, but I'm pretty sure I could go faster with some more rpm. At the same time my shift extensions were less than ideal with my 3600 converter so I decided to change that rather than the gear.

Only things that changed is I gained cubes, weight, and had a ttp cam 234/244 112. Race weight is 3550 with me in it.
Is that a typo?

Stay with 3.42. I went 1.37 60ft on 26” with my cam only nitrous setup with a 4l60 and 3.23 gears.
