heads cam + nitrous help
hey guys its me a again. im running a kit on my brothers car next week. 150 shot the car has patriot performance 5.3 stage 2.5 heads and 228r cam. what u guys recommend for plugs and where do i start with the timing. i thought #7 but want to be on the money here. it's gonna be his first time spraying we will be doing tune by plug. ill be posting pick up next weekend.

he has an n/a tune in it now. should i pull 2 degrees per every 50 and the work from there? i haven't been able to find out how much timing the tuner left the car at.

I would pull 8 degrees to start and work your way up. Better to start with too little timing than too much especially if you don't know what the timing is currently. I would also run a #8 plug.

I started out with 51n jet tune and pulled 7 degrees. After a few test passes, the plugs looked great, so I bumped it to a 55n jet (125hp) and left the timing at -7 degrees. The plugs still look great. A light fuel shadow and a timing mark just above the anode.
Next I will go 59 jet and see how that looks. Then I will go to the 63n jet tune (150 HP). Overly careful? Maybe. But I think I got some great, safe results.
