Default What plug gap?

Fixing to run my car on a 200 hit. Just got TR8IX plugs. What gap should I run these to?

What is done with you motor. Compression, etc.

I would get away from those projected TR8IX and go into B8EFS non projected tip plugs.

They don't dissipate the heat as well as a non-projected tip. many many threads on this topic...

On 200 I usually run .32 or so.

You can roast marshmallows with a stick (non-projected) or you can hold them in your hand (projected) which one do you think will hurt less?

Can you elaborate more on this? Excuse my ignorance, but I would think a projected tip plug would be the 'marshmallow on a stick' analogy. What am I missing?

I stole this picture from another website but look at the difference between a non-projected and projected tip plug. The projected tip plug has the strap further away from the threads over the porcelain. What this does is not allow the heat to dissipate into the threads. This will cause the strap to burn off and damage the motor.

Not being an ***, but, your ignorance is not in not understanding the analogy. It is in not listening to and questioning the professional knowledge of a very respected and knowledgeable sponsor and one of if not the fastest nitrous LS car owner/ tuner/ driver around.

I'm not questioning anything and I'm certainly not questioning credentials. I'm trying to understand what he's saying and comprehend the visual representation of the marshmallow to which he is referring.

Well I will try and splain it for you. The non - projected is not representing a stick per se in his analogy. It represents the fact that if you roast a marshmallow with a stick in which your hand would be non- projected towards the fire then the heat will not burn your hand (the plug tip). If you run a projected tip ( or roast the marshmallow holding it in your hand) then you will put your hand close to the fire and burn it or in the case of the plug the projected tip will get hotter and burn it and possibly fall off and into your motor potentially causing damage to said motor. Now do you understand better what he was saying.
